At the San Diego Comic-Con 2025 event, the team behind Resident Alien, including the cast and the show’s creator, shared that the series will wrap up after its current season. Chris Sheridan, the creator and showrunner, disclosed that he had decided to bring the story to a close about a year ago.
Sheridan, the executive producer of our successful series, stated during a panel at SDCC on Friday that it was wise to conclude the story this season and end it in a way that makes us feel proud of our work and satisfied fans, since the tale would then be complete.
As a devoted fan, I’ve been part of the creative process behind a season that ties up loose ends and provides an immensely fulfilling ending to the four captivating seasons we’ve all been engrossed in. It’s no exaggeration to say that I take immense pride in this achievement. Crafting a season finale, let alone a satisfying series finale, is no easy feat. But I’m thrilled with where we landed this season, so much so that I can hardly wait for you all to witness it. I have high hopes and expectations that everyone will adore it!
A Resident Alien movie?
In a playful manner, series protagonist Alan Tudyk (as Harry Vanderspeigle) stirred excitement among the audience by hinting at the possibility of a film spin-off, implying that the last episode sets things up nicely for such a project.
Alice Wetterlund (D’arcy Bloom), her co-star, swiftly responded by stating, “It seems to me there might be more than one movie involved here.
Meanwhile, Corey Reynolds (playing Sheriff Mike Thompson) proposed a title reminiscent of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the franchise: “The Vander-Saga”.
After that, Tudyk sparked another large response by proposing a hypothetical match-up between “Resident Alien” and “Predator”.

Appreciating every final moment on the Resident Alien set
As the cameras started filming the fourth and last season in Vancouver, Sheridan encouraged the actors to truly cherish each and every moment.
As a gamer, I kept tabs on the days when we were wrapping up filming on specific sets for the very last time. It was like bidding farewell subtly – not just to the team, but also to the hard work and the sets where we poured countless hours of dedication. It was a smart move to make that call early, giving us ample time to savor those moments before moving on.
Although Wetterlund will no longer collaborate frequently with her co-stars, she vowed not to consider them as goodbyes, instead playfully suggesting that due to hidden cameras in their homes, they’d never truly be separated.
Sara Tomko (Asta Twelvetrees) commented, “We didn’t just get lucky and work on this series for seven years with four seasons. Instead, I believe it’s due to the exceptional chemistry between our cast and crew, as well as the fact that you, the audience, watched us and fell in love with us.
Alan Tudyk is raising money for charity with Harry’s alien heads

With less frequent requirements to portray Dr. Vanderspeigle, Tudyk shared his intentions for selling twenty of his authentic alien props for charity. To make it even more appealing, Wetterlund playfully added, “And remember, his perspiration is part of the package!
