Ressence Debuts the TYPE 9 in Grey and Aqua

As a watch enthusiast with a penchant for minimalist design and a soft spot for innovative timepieces, I find myself utterly captivated by Ressence’s latest offering – the TYPE 9. Having had the pleasure of admiring some of the brand’s previous creations, I can confidently say that their “de-materializing” approach continues to impress me with each new release.

After unveiling the TYPE 8 INDIGO, a timepiece developed in partnership with BUAISOU, Ressence has released two new models. The Belgian watchmaker has debuted the TYPE 9, which represents their first foray into a 39mm case size and continues their ongoing exploration of minimalist design concept known as “de-materializing.

Introduced in Aqua and Grey tones, these new models are the lightest and smallest creations yet for the brand, offering a versatile and sophisticated watch that fits comfortably on most wrists. The TYPE 9 design embodies Ressence’s essential features and minimalist style, featuring a dial layout that captures its core essence. This minimalistic design is skillfully constructed from grade 5 titanium, resulting in a watch weighing only 39 grams (including the strap), which is 3 grams lighter than a standard TYPE 8.

According to Benoît Mintiens, founder of Ressence, the TYPE 9 is our smallest watch currently made, given the size of its components. From afar, it appears quite classic, but upon closer inspection, it showcases a higher level of sophistication. It’s designed for contemporary style and fits comfortably on any wrist.

The TYPE 9 model in Grey, priced at approximately $14,180 USD, is set to be sold via Ressence’s official retailers shortly. Meanwhile, the Aqua version is scheduled for release in February.
