perfect timing for Valentine’s Day, Rex Orange County and Daniel Caesar have collaborated on a set of two fresh tracks. Supported by contributions from Mustafa and Devonté Hynes of Blood Orange, this genre-bending duo has just released the songs: “Rearrange My World / There’s a Field (That’s Only Yours).
The opening track, titled “Rearrange My World,” features co-writing credits from Mustafa and Hynes. It begins with a languid melody of keys. In the lyrics, Rex kicks off by asking, “Can we walk until I know who I am? I live above a bar I’ve never been. I think about more than I can spend,” before Caesar joins in on the harmonies for the hook and the second verse.
Regarding the song titled “A Field (All Yours),” Mustafa lends both his writing and production skills to the project.
Earlier this week, Rex Orange County and Daniel Caesar announced on their Instagram accounts that they are set to release a collaboration soon. One enthusiastic fan commented, “The only thing making me look forward to Valentine’s Day!
