As a fan who has followed Rich Homie Quan’s journey since his early days, it’s bittersweet to hear this posthumous release. The raw emotion in “Song Cry” feels like a poignant testament to his life experiences, from navigating hate to shared moments with Drake and Chase. His lyrics paint vivid pictures of the highs and lows he faced, making me feel like I was right there with him.
As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to be part of the posthumous debut from Rich Homie Quan. The track, titled “Song Cry,” dropped on a day that resonated deeply, coinciding with a life celebration event held in his birthplace, College Park, Georgia.
“Cut the grass, keep the lawn mower, gotta watch out for hate / Been in sticky situations,” he raps. “I done saw Drake shoot that drac / I was in Canada soul crying, you know I called up Chase.”
On September 5, Dequantes Devontay Lamar, known as Quan, was sadly pronounced dead following an incident at his residence where he was discovered unconscious.
