As a seasoned gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in the world of hip-hop, I must say that diving into Rich Homie Quan’s posthumous album, “Forever Goin In,” felt like unearthing a long-lost treasure. The sheer volume of tracks, totaling 35, is reminiscent of scrolling through the endless corridors of an RPG game, each corner revealing a new tune.
Rich Homie Quan’s first project released after his death, titled “Forever Goin In“, is out now. Primarily a collection of his latest tracks, this album mainly showcases Quan working on his own.
The album, unexpectedly unveiled shortly before its debut, features a total of 35 tracks. It surfaced approximately a month following the unfortunate demise of the rapper at the age of 34. Last week, the Fulton County Medical Examiner confirmed his death as an accidental overdose, detecting traces of fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine, promethazine, and THC within his body.
On the track “Forever Goin In”, you’ll find collaborations by artists such as 2 Chainz, Skilla Baby, Lil Tjay, Plies, Quicktrip, Sukihana, VVSNCE, and DUUO.
Corey Lamar, Quan’s father, mentioned to Atlanta’s WSB-TV soon after his passing that Quan likely had more than 2,000 unheard songs. He explained that Quan had recently completed a “20-25 song project” with artists like 2 Chainz and Plies. However, Lamar added that when Quan starts recording, those songs no longer appeal to him, and he prefers working on new material instead. Lamar emphasized that Quan has a vast collection of music stored away, much of which his fans have yet to hear.
