Robert De Niro Partners With Nobu for New Branded Inn in the Caribbean

Robert De Niro is broadening his venture into hotel management and dining with a new business alliance. This move involves launching a high-end Nobu-branded hotel under the hospitality group Paradise Found Barbuda LLC, which purchased a 391-acre property in 2015 for a 99-year lease worth $5.2 million USD.

In an interview with the New York Times, Robert De Niro shared that Barbuda holds a unique significance for him, “I’ve always felt it was extraordinary. And I said, ‘This is the place if we can make it happen.'” The initial phase of their development project involved opening the Nobu Barbuda restaurant in 2020. This upscale eatery has been catering exclusively to visitors from nearby islands who typically arrive by helicopter or boat. The menu at Nobu Barbuda offers a blend of classic dishes such as black cod with miso, along with items featuring local ingredients like Barbuda lobster.

The Nobu Beach Inn has been established on the site previously occupied by the K Club resort, a popular luxury destination that was also frequented by the late Princess Diana. This upscale inn offers 17 bungalows, each containing 36 bedrooms, and prices start at $2,500 USD per night for a one-bedroom option. The property also includes 25 privately owned beachfront villas that can be rented if the owners choose to do so. For those with a budget of $12 million USD, these villas provide an exclusive experience with their spacious interiors ranging from 4,500 to 6,000 square feet and lush landscaping on either side measuring 24 feet. Each room boasts a private swimming pool and a dedicated staff member to cater to the guests’ specific needs. Robert De Niro, who owns a nearby residence designed by the original architect of the K Club, is reportedly involved in the planning of the new Nobu-branded Inn and has collaborated with the design team on its aesthetics. De Niro and his partners aim to construct a comfortable sanctuary for discerning guests at the Nobu Beach Inn, while ensuring that the resort respects Barbuda’s natural ecosystem and is fortified against potential future hurricanes.
