Enthusiasts of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” are all set to embark on another time warp, thanks to the fresh restoration of the movie!
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of its debut, the timeless cult favorite film has undergone a fresh restoration and remastering in stunning 4K Ultra HD. This extensive 10-month project was supervised by the Walt Disney Studios Restoration team before upcoming cinematic events and a later announced Blu-ray release. The rejuvenated version will showcase a new commemorative logo for the movie.
In this new release of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” they used a digital scanning and preservation method to maintain sharpness in every frame. Furthermore, the film offers a freshly mixed Dolby Atmos soundtrack, while also restoring the original mono audio for those who prefer the classic soundtrack as it was first heard on its domestic debut on September 25, 1975.

Upcoming announcements are scheduled for the anniversary festivities of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” a film that is still screened every week worldwide. Based on playwright Richard O’Brien’s stage musical with the same title, director Jim Sharman’s movie features Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon as a newly engaged couple who seek refuge at the enigmatic castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, portrayed by Tim Curry.
