As a seasoned gamer of music festivals with over two decades under my belt, I must say I am positively thrilled by Rod Stewart’s return to the hallowed grounds of Glastonbury! It’s been a while since I’ve danced along to the tunes of “Maggie May” and “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?” under the British sun, but it seems that time has only added to the legend’s charisma.
Rod Stewart will grace the Glastonbury stage once again.
Next year’s event will see the rock star performing in the “legend” slot, a role he has officially accepted. This marks his return to the U.K.’s largest music festival, which he last graced 23 years ago.
As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that iconic artist, Stewart—renowned for timeless hits such as “Maggy May” and “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?”—will be walking in the footsteps of musical legends like Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, and Kylie Minogue by gracing the coveted Sunday slot during late June.
The 79-year-old artist, known for selling over 120 million records worldwide, expressed his excitement on X (previously Twitter) on Tuesday: “I’m delighted to share that I will be performing at the Glastonbury Festival in 2025! It’s been a long time since my last performance, but I feel proud, prepared, and eager to perform again for my friends at Glastonbury in June. Can’t wait to see you there!
I’m incredibly excited to share that I will perform at Glastonbury 2025! It’s been a long wait, but I feel honored, prepared, and eager to grace the stage once more. I can’t wait to entertain and excite my friends at Glastonbury in June. See you there!

On Sundays at the festival, a significant number of attendees gather, as Stewart is the initial artist to both headline Glastonbury and receive legendary status.
He’s already been confirmed as the opening act for Glastonbury 2025. There’s a lot of talk about who else might be performing at Somerset’s Worthy Farm, with Olivia Rodrigo, Stevie Wonder, Eminem, Harry Styles, and Charli XCX being some of the names that have been mentioned.
This year, Dua Lipa and SZA shared the spotlight with Coldplay, who have a long history at Glastonbury as Chris Martin’s group has graced the stage an impressive six times.
The tickets are currently unavailable as they’ve all been purchased, but a small batch will become available again in January, which is likely to sell quickly.
