Romy and Sampha Share “I’m on your team”

As a long-time fan of both Romy Madley Croft and Sampha, I have to say that their latest collaboration, “I’m on your team,” has truly struck a chord with me. Their harmonious voices blend seamlessly, creating an ethereal soundscape that is as moving as it is beautiful.

Romy and Sampha initially joined forces back in March when Romy appeared as a guest on Sampha’s radio program called “Wave Therapy.” During this appearance, they performed André 3000’s song “Me & My (To Bury Your Parents).” Since then, they have actually collaborated in the recording studio and recently unveiled their first original track as a duo.

The title “I’m on Your Team” accurately represents this piece, as it subtly conveys a harmonious collaboration between the British artists. They seamlessly blend together in this captivating four-minute composition. The production of this piano-dominant track is skillfully handled by Thomas Bartlett.

Romy described the track as a love song that is sincere and factual. It mirrors their shared experiences, including moments of enchantment and fantasy. However, they’ve encountered challenges together, which is why they are where they are now. She’s committed to making it work.

Sampha expresses, “There’s something I appreciate greatly – working as part of a group where everyone is present for one another. From this shared commitment, we can develop a bond that goes even deeper.
