ROSÉ Debuts at No. 3 on Billboard 200 With 'rosie'

As a long-time K-pop enthusiast who’s been following the industry since its early days, I must say that this week’s Billboard 200 chart is nothing short of thrilling! Seeing ROSÉ, one of BLACKPINK’s shining stars, debut at No. 3 with her solo album ‘rosie’ is a testament to her undeniable talent and the global appeal of K-pop. The fact that she managed to secure a collaboration with none other than Bruno Mars on “APT” just adds fuel to the fire!

ROSÉ is opening at No. 3 on this week’s Billboard 200 with rosie.

In its first week, the solo debut album of BLACKPINK’s primary member racked up 102,000 total album units, with 70,000 coming from physical sales, 31,000 from streaming equivalents (43.85 million on-demand streams), and a mere 1,000 from track equivalents. Notably, Bruno Mars lends his voice to a single track titled “APT,” which made waves on the Billboard Hot 100 chart by debuting at No. 8 and reaching its peak there as well.

This week also sees new entries from K-pop sensation TWICE and their song STRATEGY, landing at the fourth spot with a total of 88,000 equivalent album units sold in its first week. Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter’s Frruitcake comes in at tenth place, moving 54,000 equivalent album units.

In other parts of the chart, Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, and Carpenter’s “Short n’ Sweet” are holding steady at positions 1, 2, and 5 respectively. Completing the lower half of this week’s top list are the “Wicked” film soundtrack at position 6, Michael Bublé at position 7, Bing Crosby at position 8, and Billie Eilish at position 9.
