The principal cast of the contentious Western film “Rust” has spoken about its release following a challenging period to wrap up production after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was unintentionally shot and passed away on set back in October 2021. By 2023, filming resumed, but certain cast members had to leave due to scheduling conflicts while others came back to finish their scenes. The newcomers included Patrick Scott McDermott and Josh Hopkins, who took over for Brady Noon and Jensen Ackles, respectively, because of scheduling issues. It was McDermott and Hopkins who expressed their thoughts on wrapping up the film starring Alec Baldwin, which is now playing in theaters.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actors shared their thoughts on wrapping up and distributing a film that has sparked much debate. However, there was a sense of purpose that I hadn’t experienced before in any film production.
