Saif Ali Khan, a well-known actor in Bollywood, is expected to leave the hospital on January 21st, 2025, following multiple stab wounds he received during a burglary attempt at his home in Bandra. Medical staff at Lilavati Hospital have reportedly stated that Saif will be released later today. Despite this, doctors have recommended that he take a few more days to rest and recuperate.
On Thursday, January 16, in the early morning hours, actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked by a burglar and sustained several stab wounds, numbering at least six. Two of these injuries were particularly serious as they were close to his spinal area.
At approximately 2:15 am, an unfortunate event transpired at Saif’s Bandra home, where it is said that an intruder forcefully entered the property. Initially, the intruder assaulted their house staff before directing their aggression towards Saif, who had come in to defend.
Based on news accounts, medical professionals successfully extracted a 2.5-inch knife blade from Saif Ali Khan’s injury. Following the operation, the actor has been transferred to the Intensive Care Unit and is currently said to no longer be in immediate peril.
On January 20th, the medical staff opted to continue monitoring him for an extra day. Simultaneously, authorities in Mumbai apprehended the perpetrator in Thane and disclosed that he was a Bangladeshi citizen who unlawfully entered India. The individual in question, known as Mohammed Shehzad, previously held the title of a national-level wrestling champion in Bangladesh.
30-year-old individual, hailing from Bangladesh but using the name Vijay Das, allegedly broke Indian law by entering the country unlawfully. The authorities claim that this person, identified as Mohammed Shehzad, committed the crime for the purpose of theft. DCP Zone 9, Dixit Gedam, shared that the perpetrator had been in Mumbai approximately 5-6 months prior, residing temporarily before moving to a nearby location.
Shehzad confessed to visiting Saif Ali Khan’s apartment on the twelfth floor. He disclosed that he had recently begun working in Bandra, and frequently walked through the neighborhood late at night following his job. He chose Khan’s residence because he noticed a lack of security guard and CCTV cameras at the back of the building during these nighttime strolls.
In the context of employment, Shehzad, a worker at a cleaning agency, was taken into custody and subsequently brought before the court in Bandra. There, the judge decided that Shehzad would stay in police detention for a period of five days.
