Saif Ali Khan Attack: Mumbai police collect 19 fingerprints from bathroom window, duct shaft, ladder and more; Details inside

On the 16th of January, I found myself under an unwanted ordeal – a vicious attack and multiple stabbings during a robbery attempt at my residence in Bandra. Currently, I’m undergoing treatment at Lilavati Hospital. Just this past Sunday, the Mumbai police made an arrest in Thane – the primary suspect, Mohammed Shehzad, is now in their custody. The investigators have managed to collect 19 distinct fingerprints from various spots, such as a bathroom window, duct shaft, and ladder, among others, as they continue to piece together the details of this incident.

In my role as a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share an interesting piece of information that recently came to light. It appears that Mumbai authorities have uncovered 19 fingerprints matching with Mohammed Shariful Islam, a Bangladeshi national who goes by the alias Vijay Das. This individual is allegedly involved in the attempted robbery at Saif Ali Khan’s residence on January 16, where unfortunate events led to an attack on the renowned Bollywood actor.

Police sources in Mumbai shared with The Indian Express that they managed to find and match the fingerprints of the suspect, Mohammed Shariful Islam, to several spots at the crime scene.

Among these were the bathroom window that served as his entrance and exit point, the ventilation duct, the ladder employed for gaining access to the structure, and various other locations. The police consider these fingerprints pivotal evidence in constructing a robust case aimed at securing a conviction against Islam in relation to the Saif Ali Khan stabbing incident.

As an over-eager fan, I’d rephrase it like this: Upon scrutinizing the fingerprint samples against both local and federal databases, no matching profiles were found. This sparked a suspicion within me, thinking that perhaps the thief wasn’t a local resident but possibly an individual from Bangladesh, given the high rate of illegal immigration from there into our country.

On Monday, the authorities transferred Mohammed Shariful Islam from a detention cell to the Bandra Police Station for more interrogation and examination.

The investigators are planning to take Mohammed Shariful Islam to an actor’s apartment located on St Terrasa Road, Bandra West. Since he has already admitted to the incident, the police will interrogate him to provide details about the sequence of events – such as how he managed to enter the building and escape following his interaction with the actor.

In hot pursuit of Saif, I, an ardent fan turned detective, darted off after the elusive Mohammed Shariful Islam. Escaping via Bandra Station, he headed towards Dadar and eventually, Worli. The relentless police force trailed his every step using footage from CCTV cameras at the Bandra Railway Station, Dadar, and Worli. To add to their investigation, he was spotted munching on parathas at a street food vendor, thus confirming his whereabouts.

Investigating the stall proprietor, the police uncovered information about the UPI transfer Islam made to purchase the parathas and a water bottle. This financial transaction ultimately guided them towards a labor camp situated close to Ghodbunder, Thane.

Saif Ali Khan underwent an emergency trip to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital in an autorickshaw after being attacked and stabbed six times. During a five-hour operation, doctors managed to extract a 2.5-inch fragment of the blade that was close to his spine. His medical team reports that the 54-year-old actor is making a good recovery.
