Saif Ali Khan coming late on Bullett Raja sets affected film’s schedule, recalls Tigmanshu Dhulia; ‘Was under a lot of pressure’

As an ardent fan of Bollywood, I must confess that my fascination with Saif Ali Khan’s career has seen its fair share of ups and downs, much like the twists and turns in one of his movies. His collaboration with Tigmanshu Dhulia for Bullett Raja was undeniably a rollercoaster ride – a blend of anticipation, excitement, and occasional turbulence.

In an unexpected turn, Tigmanshu Dhulia selected Saif Ali Khan for his 2013 movie “Bullett Raja.” Recently, Dhulia shared insights from their collaboration in an interview. He remarked that the production process grew complicated because they had to work quickly due to shorter daylight hours during winter. Moreover, he mentioned that Saif wasn’t always prompt on set, and they were under immense pressure as a result.

In conversation with Mashable India, Dhulia shared his thoughts, saying, “Overall, it was a positive experience. It could have been even better if I had more time. The production schedule stretched from 75 days to 102 days. I found myself under considerable stress.” Delving into the issues that arose, Tigmanshu explained, “We were filming during winter, which meant fewer daylight hours. Additionally, Saif Ali Khan was often late. Apart from these challenges, the experience was satisfactory.

In our recent chat, I shared my admiration for performers who can fully immerse themselves and leave their personal matters at the door during a production. I value building friendships with the talented individuals I work with, and I believe it’s crucial for them to be open to letting go of any self-importance or excess baggage. I find that when actors surrender themselves to the process, everything becomes smoother and more enjoyable.

The movie Bullett Raja included Sonakshi Sinha and Jimmy Sheirgill among its cast members. This film was situated in Uttar Pradesh, delving into the relationships between organized crime and the political setting of the state. Additionally, Vidyut Jammwal, Chunky Pandey, Ravi Kishan, Gulshan Grover, and Raj Babbar played supporting roles in this production.

Sadly, the movie didn’t get favorable feedback from critics and failed to attract a large audience. As a result, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Saif Ali Khan haven’t worked together on any new productions since then.

In the near future, I’ll be gracing the screens in a captivating project titled “Devara.” Joining me on this journey are my esteemed co-stars Jr NTR and the radiant Janhvi Kapoor. This Telugu production is slated for a grand pan-Indian premiere on September 27, 2024.
