Saif Ali Khan Hotel Brawl Case: Amrita Arora bears witness in magistrate court; Claims Iqbal Sharma ‘provoked’ altercation

On March 29th this year, Amrita Arora Ladak attended a court hearing at the Metropolitan Magistrate Court. The reason for her appearance was to provide testimony in an ongoing legal dispute with her ex-husband, Saif Ali Khan, and a businessman named Iqbal Sharma. This case has been unfolding since 2012, stemming from an argument between the two men at Mumbai’s Taj Hotel. It is alleged that Arora Ladak physically attacked Sharma during a social gathering.

As reported by News 18, during her court appearance after numerous summons, Amrita claimed a new angle regarding the events of that night. She stated that it was Sharma who instigated the incident, as he allegedly approached their table angrily over the noise level. According to Amrita, Saif tried to de-escalate the situation by politely apologizing. However, Sharma left after this, and they believed the issue had been resolved.

The tranquility didn’t last long. Not much time passed before things took a turn for the worse, particularly after Saif stepped away from the table to visit the restroom. Amrita remembers hearing loud arguments, but before they could intervene, it was said that Sharma had struck Saif. Furthermore, he is claimed to have continued verbally attacking and threatening Saif.

On February 22 of the mentioned year, an incident caused a significant uproar when Sharma accused the actor of not just physically attacking him but also his father-in-law, Raman Patel. However, Saif defended himself by stating that it was Sharma who started the fight by verbally abusing the women in their company, which included Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora, and others.

Saif’s role as the family protector became evident in a recent incident, where the actor bravely protected his wife, children, and staff by enduring multiple attacks from an intruder who entered their home in Mumbai around midnight.

In the most recent update regarding the case, the Bangladeshi individual taken into custody for reportedly stabbing an actor has submitted a bail application, arguing that the charges against him are unfounded and baseless.

Regarding the Taj incident, after the argument, Saif, together with associates Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi, were taken into custody but subsequently granted bail. Eventually, they were formally charged under Section 325 of the Indian Penal Code for intentionally inflicting severe injury upon another individual.

With Amrita’s statement now on record, the case continues to unfold in court.
