Salman Khan's ex-girlfriend Somy Ali says superstar wasn't aware Bishnoi community worships blackbuck; shares whether he should apologize

As a long-time admirer and observer of Salman Khan’s career, I find myself deeply troubled by the recent turn of events involving his life and career. Having followed his journey since the 90s, I have witnessed his meteoric rise to stardom and the numerous challenges he has faced along the way. The latest controversy surrounding the blackbuck case and the death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang is a stark reminder of the price one pays for fame.

Salman Khan, a well-known Bollywood actor, has been making news since the passing of his friend, Baba Siddique. Following claims by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang that they were responsible for the late politician’s murder, Salman has faced death threats. In this difficult time, Somy Ali, one of Salman’s former girlfriends, has disclosed that he was unaware that the Bishnoi community reveres blackbuck. Additionally, she stated that there is no need for him to offer an apology in this situation.

In a recent conversation with Aaj Tak, Somy Ali elaborated on Salman Khan’s 1998 blackbuck case. Somy expressed that it seems illogical to accuse Salman of wrongdoing since he was unaware that the Bishnoi tribe reveres blackbuck deer as sacred.

Somy Ali expressed confusion, saying: “If Salman wasn’t aware of something, then why is he being accused? This makes no sense to me. There seems to be no logic behind it.

As a lifestyle consultant, I must say that I’ve observed the public scrutiny faced by Salman Khan in this case, given his prominent status as a superstar. Looking back on my time dating him, I want to clarify that I was not present during the alleged hunting incident in Jodhpur. To be honest, Salman didn’t ask me to join him that day because he felt animals would become spooked by my persistent coughing. It’s worth noting that I hold a strong disdain for hunting as a pastime, considering it an unnecessary and cruel practice.

In simpler terms, when asked if Salman should apologize for his unawareness about the reverence held by the Bishnoi community towards blackbucks, Somy explained that it was pointless since he wasn’t cognizant of this fact at the time.

The former actress expressed that she would apologize to the Bishnoi community on Salman’s behalf.

As an ardent admirer looking back on my past, I can’t help but reflect on my eight-year journey with the captivating Salman Khan, my Andolan co-star from 1991 to 1999. Our relationship came to an end, and in search of new horizons, I chose to head back to the US for my academic pursuits. The limelight often shone on him, and during the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain in the ’90s, he faced accusations related to the hunting of blackbucks.
