SanDisk Just Dropped Pokémon-Themed microSD Cards

As a gamer with a heart that never grew up and a wallet that’s been through more battles than a seasoned Pokémon Trainer, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia when I see these new SanDisk Pokémon-themed microSD cards. Growing up, I remember the thrill of catching ’em all on my Game Boy Color, and now here we are, with Pikachu, Gengar, and Snorlax gracing our memory storage solutions.

For eight years now, after Western Digital took over the flash memory specialist company SanDisk, the SanDisk brand has thrived as a prominent force in the memory market. It’s been collaborating closely with Nintendo, creating engaging themed microSD cards specifically designed for the Nintendo Switch. Previously, these releases ranged from Fortnite and Apex Legends themes to Mario and Yoshi designs. Now, SanDisk has come up with a line of Pokémon-themed microSD cards for enthusiasts to savor.

In this newest expansion of its licensed collection, there are three distinct designs produced for various memory capacities: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. It’s only fitting that the iconic Pikachu graces the cover of the 256GB version, with its charming face displayed prominently. Moving on, Gengar adorns a purple card providing 512GB, while Snorlax brings up the rear with a cheerful expression on the blue-colored 1TB card. The read speeds can reach 100MB/s, and write speeds cap out at 90MB/s, ensuring smooth data transfer.

If you’re a fan of Pokémon and looking to grab one of SanDisk’s latest themed microSD cards, they are now up for grabs on the Western Digital website. The 256GB Pikachu card retails at $33 USD, while the 512GB Gengar card is priced at $55 USD per piece. The 1TB Snorlax card is also available for $130 USD, but it seems to be out of stock on the site at the moment.
