Sandy Liang SS25: The Spy Girl's Nine-to-Five

As a gamer with a penchant for fashion and a soft spot for spy-themed narratives, Sandy Liang‘s Spring/Summer 2025 collection has truly captivated my attention. Growing up watching shows like “Totally Spies,” this collection resonates deeply with my childhood fantasies of being a secret agent. The colorful, convertible garments are not just clothes, but rather, they’re gadgets in disguise – a dress that can be a jumpsuit, a mini skirt with a hidden pocket, or a chain-mail set that doubles as body armor!

Sandy Liang has shared some exciting news: we’re moving into a spy girl theme for Spring/Summer 2025! Based in New York City, this trendsetting designer presented her latest collection at the Altman Building in Lower Manhattan, following her recent motherhood experience. Continuing to showcase her keen eye for detail, Liang has created a whimsical, ultra-feminine world, tailored to suit a secret agent living in Soho, who prefers satin garments.

Liang, inspired by the animated series “Totally Spies”, notes that being a princess and being a spy girl are both occupations.

For the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, Sandy Liang offers versatile outfits that cater to various occasions – from work attire to casual commuting, formal events like a piano recital or a movie night, everyday wear, and even pieces for self-expression and creating your personal style. This line is like a secret agent, always prepared for any eventuality in her own unique way.

In the front row, graced by the most popular internet personalities like Orion Carloto, Devon Lee Carlson, and Sydney Carlson, every women’s fashion ensemble stood out on its own merit. The collection showcased an array of vibrant pieces designed to transform, featuring a variety of convertible garments.

“Short skirts are even shorter; sometimes, a skirt acts like shorts. A light-colored overall for work is considered a dress. A tube of lipstick made of metal feels more like a laser… Even metal can have a soft side. Practicality can be as captivating as fantasy, and vice versa.

Liang skillfully combines the functional requirements of the spy girl with her enchanting femininity. The dominant color throughout the alluring corporate-inspired assortment is pink, found in various floral-patterned items such as a gown made entirely from transparent flowers and a chain-mail suit adorned with floral embellishments, along with a flower-decorated dress.

Notable items also include a mini skirt with a concealed zip pocket, a petite trench coat, and a dress resembling a pageant sash, complemented by footwear such as sandals held together by just a ring and a new style of heeled court shoes. Accessories, or perhaps better described as gadgets, include silver leather bags and charms.
