As someone who has grown up with Saturday Night Live (SNL) being a staple of my weekend entertainment, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming docuseries, SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night on Peacock! Having followed the show for decades and even attempting to imitate some of the skits during family gatherings, this behind-the-scenes look into the making of one of the most influential comedy shows ever is a dream come true.
In preparation for Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary celebration in February, streaming service Peacock plans to delve more extensively into the show’s five decades of history.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that on January 16th, the NBCUniversal-owned platform will stream “SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night,” an enticing four-part series offering a sneak peek into the backstage world of NBC’s iconic sketch comedy show. Morgan Neville, renowned for his work in “20 Feet From Stardom” and “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”, is one of the executive producers. This intriguing project promises appearances from several SNL alumni and a wealth of never-before-seen footage, thanks to the filmmakers’ unique access to the show’s extensive archives. Can’t wait to see it!
As a gaming enthusiast, I’d rephrase it like this:
Take a Peek into the SNL Audition Process: An Exclusive Insight with Previously Unreleased Footage from Past Trials and Personal Stories shared by Cast Members about their Audition Preparations. This Documentary is Directed by Alexander.
Titled ‘A Week Inside the SNL Writers Room’, this production offers an insightful look at the journey a sketch takes from script to the live stage every Saturday, guided by the direction of Curry.
An in-depth exploration, orchestrated by Berkeley, delves into the creation process behind the iconic 2000 sketch on the show, starring Christopher Walken as the host alongside cast members Will Ferrell, Chris Parnell, Jimmy Fallon, Horatio Sanz, and Chris Kattan.
Season 11: The Tumultuous Term – Director Zeldes delves into the 1985-86 period of SNL, a time when Lorne Michaels returned to the show after five years’ absence, but what unfolded on screen was far from smooth sailing.
Neville, Caitrin Rogers, and showrunner Quentin Cambron serve as the executive producers of “SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night”. Jonathan Formica handles production for episodes one and four, while Allison Klein is in charge of episodes two and three.
The documentary series will debut a month prior to NBC’s prime-time celebration marking the show’s 50th season. (Or) The documentary series is scheduled for release a month ahead of NBC’s prime-time event commemorating the show’s 50th anniversary.
