Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s classic movie Satya, featuring Manoj Bajpayee and Urmila Matondkar, has made its comeback to the big screen after an absence of 27 years in theaters. Known for its cult-like status within Indian cinema, there have been rumors about a supposed rift between Ram Gopal Varma and Urmila Matondkar. However, she clarified these rumors by stating, “There was never a point where we stopped working together, nor was there any falling out between RGV and me.

During a conversation with Bombay Times, actress Urmila Matondkar clarified that there had been no disagreement or falling out with director Ram Gopal Varma, as rumors might suggest.

She made it clear that their collaboration remained constant, and she strongly stressed that there were no disagreements between them. Mentioning her collaborations, Urmila pointed out that she sang in some of his movies, specifically in “Company” and “Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag.

Urmila conveyed that Ram Gopal Varma is among the most talented directors in the film business. Moreover, she mentioned that Sriram Raghavan, Madhu Mantena, and Anurag Kashyap were present at the screening of Satya’s re-launch, as they all started their careers working alongside RGV in the industry.

Referring back to her preparations, Urmila pointed out that she employed her mother’s vintage sarees, which were on the verge of being tossed aside, as they appeared ideal for the part she was playing.
