SEAL Team's David Boreanaz Shares Sentimental Post With Co-Star A.J. Buckley Following Latest Episode, And I'm In My Feelings

As a devoted fan of SEAL Team for the past seven seasons, I must say that the penultimate episode left me with a rollercoaster of emotions. The latest episode, “The Sea and the Hills,” set the stage for an intense series finale that promises to be nothing short of heart-wrenching.

The second to last episode of SEAL Team has created an emotionally charged atmosphere leading up to its series finale, which is set for broadcast during the 2024 TV schedule. This is significant given the intense emotions already present. It remains uncertain how the military drama will conclude the main characters’ stories or who among them might not survive. Moreover, following the latest episode and in anticipation of the final one, David Boreanaz shared a heartfelt post with co-star A.J. Buckley, which has left me quite emotional as well.

In “The Sea and the Hills,” Bravo team was about to embark on their final mission together when David Boreanaz’s character, Jason, was summoned for a separate assignment: taking out Ross Curtis, who had turned against the U.S. by betraying it. During his time with the United States Army Special Forces, Curtis was in Honduras in 2004 and collaborated on fentanyl drug trade operations with Ramon Nazario, a key figure in those operations.

Once more, Bravo was separated, leaving uncertainty about whether the team will encounter their fearless leader again. Following the episode’s premiere, Boreanaz posted a heartwarming photo of him and A.J. Buckley sharing an embrace on Instagram. This image not only captures Jason and Sonny bidding farewell but also symbolizes Boreanaz and Buckley parting ways in a more metaphorical sense.

Witnessing the pair embracing is quite heartwarming and could stir up emotions. It carries an extra poignancy knowing that it might have been their final moments working together on set, or possibly even their last scene together.

It’s truly disheartening that the series finale will separate Jason and Bravo, but this narrative choice undeniably increases the stakes. Not only are their missions inherently perilous, but if one of them survives while the other doesn’t, they might be faced with immense internal struggles. Consequently, the final embrace between Jason and Sonny seems strikingly surreal and demands my immediate reflection.

It appears that David Boreanaz continues to hint at potential outcomes for the series finale. Not long ago, he shared a sneak peek of the final scene, showing Jason fully equipped, standing tall and ready for his next assignment. With the finale just around the corner, the anticipation is growing, and I can’t help but feel it’s all too real – I wish the end was further away.

Despite fans not yet over the demise of Clay Spenser, played by Max Thieriot, and Bravo’s series as a whole, it seems almost certain that one cast member may not survive until the end of the show. My hunch is that character in danger could be Jason. Let’s hope that when I revisit this heartwarming photo next week, I won’t find myself shedding tears due to his fate.

Looking forward to seeing how SEAL Team concludes its seven-season run, with both anticipation and apprehension. In the days ahead, I wouldn’t be surprised if David Boreanaz and the cast post emotional messages. The final season is now streaming, set to end when the series finale airs on Sunday, October 6 for those who have a Paramount+ subscription.
