Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Defense Team Wants to Ask Potential Jurors About Aversion to Sex and Violence

Before Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Manhattan trial on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, sparks are still flying in the pre-trial phase. The defense team for the accused rap mogul has submitted a detailed questionnaire to potential jurors to gauge their opinions about subjects such as sex, drugs, and violence. This move has caused some discomfort among the prosecution.

In a letter dated Friday, Combs’ legal team submitted a questionnaire to Judge Arun Subramanian for potential jurors. This questionnaire delves into intricate details about adult scenarios and actual footage of physical altercations in real life. The questionnaire is set to be distributed to those who have been summoned for jury duty, with the aim of reducing the pool before the selection process on May 5th.

The structure of the questionnaire implies that during the trial, the jury might be presented with videos depicting the alleged wild, sex- and drug-infused parties, as described in the indictment against Combs. Moreover, the footage showing an incident from 2018 where Combs is seen assaulting his then-girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie Ventura, at a Los Angeles hotel, which was leaked by CNN, is being challenged by the defense. They argue that CNN altered the video prior to its broadcast. In their case, Ventura will be the initial witness called by the prosecution.

In their own correspondence, prosecutors expressed concerns to the judge about the extensive 72-question jury questionnaire, stating that some questions appear irrelevant to jury service and would be more appropriately addressed by the judge during the trial instead. The two parties have yet to agree on what information potential jurors should provide in the questionnaires prior to the trial.

His legal team suggests that prospective jurors should feel free to express openly any extensive and unfavorable press coverage they might have encountered concerning Mr. Combs,” the embattled Bad Boy Records founder’s attorneys penned.

Along with various questions about sex and violence, one of the inquiries on the defense team’s form also seeks to find out if potential jurors have watched any documentaries or series that present Combs in an unfavorable manner. Examples include “The Fall of Diddy”, “Diddy Do It?”, “The Downfall of Diddy”, and “Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy”.

The defense team’s questionnaire also includes questions about documentaries and series that portray Combs negatively. Examples include “The Fall of Diddy”, “Diddy Do It?”, “The Downfall of Diddy”, and “Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy”.

Combs currently resides at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting his trial. He has vehemently denied all accusations brought against him and firmly maintains that he has never engaged in any form of sexual misconduct towards anyone.
