As a devoted fan who’s been hooked since the very first episode, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the news that Hulu is bringing back “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” for another season! I mean, who wouldn’t want to delve deeper into the lives of these fascinating Utah-based content creators, collectively known as MomTok?
Hulu‘s breakout unscripted show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is coming back for more.
As a dedicated gamer and avid Hulu viewer, I’m thrilled to share that the streaming platform, now under Disney’s wing, has just added 20 more episodes to my favorite show! This series debuted on September 6th, making history as the first unscripted Hulu series to enter Nielsen’s streaming rankings. The initial eight-episode season, dropped in one go, managed to garner a whopping 409 million minutes of viewing time during the week of September 2nd to 8th! I can hardly wait to see what’s next!
Hulu has yet to reveal its distribution plan for the entire 20-episode season, but the initial episodes are expected to debut in the spring of 2025. Speculations about the show’s renewal started spreading on Wednesday.
The show titled Secret Lives focuses on a Utah-based creative collective known as MomTok, consisting of members Taylor Frankie Paul, Demi Engemann, Jen Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews and Whitney Leavitt. The initial season unfolds the consequences that ensue following an announcement made by Taylor in a live TikTok broadcast, where she revealed her divorce from her husband after engaging in “soft swinging” with other Mormon couples.
In the first season, a philosophical query was posed: “Will #MomTok endure this challenge?” Without a doubt, it will! Mark your calendars for Spring 2025, as it’s time to prepare your favorite fizzy drinks! This announcement comes from Rob Mills, the executive vice president of unscripted and alternative entertainment at Walt Disney Television.
The TV series titled “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” is jointly created by Jeff Jenkins Productions, in partnership with 3BMG and Walt Disney Television Alternative. The key figures overseeing the production are Jeff Jenkins, Russell Jay-Staglik, Andrea Metz, Brandon Beck, and Eric Monsky from Jeff Jenkins Productions; Ross Weintraub and Reinout Oerlemans from 3BMG; and Danielle Pistotnik, Georgia Berger, and Lisa Filipelli from Select Entertainment.
