As a vintage car enthusiast and longtime admirer of Seiko’s timeless designs, I must say that the new Prospex Speedtimer with its Factory Red dial is an absolute stunner! The dial’s deep, moody red, reminiscent of classic European cars from the ’60s, takes me back to those Sunday afternoons spent under the hood of my dad’s old Alfa Romeo.
Seiko has quietly introduced a new Prospex Speedtimer starring a fierce, “Factory Red” dial.
The design of this latest model takes cues from the stylish and timeless look of ’60s European automobiles, reflected in a rich, somber rendition of the traditional red dial. Accentuating this, we have a matte-finished plate, while the central seconds hand, reminiscent of vintage car speedometers, is a vibrant orange.
Powered by the V192 solar mechanism, this watch offers a 6-month power reserve once fully charged. It features a 39mm stainless steel casing, complemented by both a steel band and a leather strap for versatile wear.
2,400 units of the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer in Factory Red will be launched exclusively in Europe this December. Priced at around $943 USD (equivalent to £730 GBP), this watch is now available for pre-order via Seiko’s UK online store.
