Seiko’s Newest Presage Classic Wristwatches Exude Gentle Vintage Appeal

As a seasoned gamer with a discerning eye for aesthetics and a deep appreciation for the intertwining of history and design, these new Seiko Presage Classic series timepieces have truly caught my attention. Having spent countless hours immersed in virtual worlds, I’ve always been fascinated by the intricate details that bring those worlds to life, and these watches are no exception.

Following the unveiling of a pair of “Japanese Zen Garden” watches, Seiko introduces two more models to its refined Presage Classic collection. These new timepieces draw inspiration from Japan’s vibrant silk tradition, with dials that mimic the gentle feel of silk fabric. Clad in an “Shiro-Iro” off-white shade, these dials are adorned with golden accents, showcasing a classic elegance magnified by dual-curve sapphire glass.

The SPB480J1 model showcases an ‘open-heart’ style design, contrasting with the more traditional layout of the SPB478J1. Both models exude a subtle vintage charm, harmonizing aesthetics and functionality through their curved dials, leaf-shaped hands, and index markers. The seven-piece, multi-tiered bracelet, drawing inspiration from 1970s metal bands of the past, is crafted for both comfort and sophistication, ensuring effortless, graceful movement.

Equipped with the self-manufactured 6R55 movement, these timepieces feature a date display at the 3 o’clock position and boast a power reserve of 72 hours. Their prices fall between £900 – £1,050 GBP (approximately $1,148 – $1,340 USD). You can now pre-order these watches directly from Seiko’s official online store.
