Seven Years Later, Maas Still Avoids Feyre & Rhysand Crossovers!

The “Throne of Glass” series, a standout fantasy collection by author Sarah J. Maas, spans across multiple bestselling series set within a world that appears to be interconnected like a multiverse. Although Maas has been hinting at this connection for quite some time, fans continue to hope for a full crossover following a brief appearance that suggested the shared setting seven years ago. The “Throne of Glass” books mainly focus on Aelin, a long-lost heir and skilled assassin who wields fire, as she sets out on a mission to reclaim her throne.

Since then, the storyline has expanded rather than shrinking. Introducing additional influential figures into the world of Throne of Glass, Sarah J. Maas began releasing the series A Court of Thorns and Roses prior to the completion of Throne of Glass. This narrative follows Feyre, a human huntress, who becomes embroiled in the political happenings of the Faerie realm of Prythian and eventually forms a bond with Rhysand, the High Lord of the Night Court, as part of a distinct tale apart from Aelin’s adventures. However, during the climactic event of the Wyrdgate’s sealing and Aelin losing her powers, two cherished characters make a brief appearance who have yet to reencounter Aelin.

7 Years Later, Sarah J. Maas Still Hasn’t Properly Addressed Throne Of Glass’ Feyre & Rhysand Cameos

Feyre & Rhys Had A Fateful Encounter With Aelin That Deserves A Follow-Up

As a film enthusiast, I’d rephrase it as follows: In my experience as a lover of tales, when Aelin shuts the Wyrdgate and exacts her retribution against the vengeful deities, she is hurled through multiple universes. For a fleeting moment, I catch a glimpse of what seems to be the bustling urban backdrop central to Maas’ Crescent City series. But the most striking encounter occurs when I witness Rhys and Feyre from an elevated vantage point, enjoying an evening together with Feyre expecting. It appears that Rhys senses my predicament and employs his own magical prowess to decelerate me, allowing me a safe journey back home.

Feyre’s pregnancy sets this scene within the narrative of “A Court of Silver Flames,” the fifth book in the ACOTAR series. There are hints that this event causes Rhys to be deeply contemplative, pondering the potential consequences of interactions with another realm. Yet, Maas hasn’t detailed any further encounters between Aelin and the Night Court members or even had characters directly discuss these events. A future conversation or meeting about this significant incident would add depth to the storyline, which could potentially occur in one of Sarah J. Maas’ forthcoming books.

Sarah J. Maas Connected ACOTAR & Crescent City, But We Still Need A Throne Of Glass Crossover

Will Aelin & Feyre Ever Properly Meet?

In the story called “Crescent City,” Bryce, the main character, spends some time in the Night Court. This is more connection between the characters in “Throne of Glass” and “A Court of Thorns and Roses” than previously seen. Author Sarah J. Maas has expressed her readiness for crossovers and even added a distant familial link to the plot of “Crescent City.” This opens up the possibility that we might learn more about the characters from both “Throne of Glass” and “A Court of Thorns and Roses” as they interact, assuming Maas decides to pen another book like “Throne of Glass.
