It’s well-known that Tramell Tillman delivered an outstanding performance as Seth Milchick on Apple TV+’s . This is why, when director Christopher McQuarrie reached out to him, Tillman assumed they were just going to discuss the sci-fi drama series. However, what Tillman didn’t realize was that McQuarrie intended to offer him a role in the eighth installment of Mission: Impossible .
It turns out that Christopher McQuarrie has a deep affection for the show “Severance”, as Tillman discovered during their recent Zoom conversation. Initially, Tillman assumed they were just going to discuss the series, but it turned out there was more on McQuarrie’s mind.
Tillman went on to say, “He discussed Mission: Impossible, and he suggested there could be a part for me. I inquired, ‘So, what’s next? What’s the arrangement?’ He replied, ‘Give it some thought, and if you choose to accept the role, it’s yours.’

The conversation with the director of Mission: Impossible took place when Tillman was preparing to commence shooting Season 2 of Severance. As a result, he needed to arrange his schedule so that filming the spy thriller could fit in, but he was thrilled at the prospect of being involved in the upcoming Mission: Impossible movie.
After wrapping up the meeting and shutting down my computer, I found myself bouncing on my feet and circling my apartment, then I reached out to my team over the phone and exclaimed, ‘Hey, despite our upcoming film shoot, we need to tackle this issue,'” Tillman shared. “In the end, I was thrilled to join the cast of Mission: Impossible.
Others on the Set Loved Severance
Tillman, who became famous for his “devour feculence” line during the final episode of the second season of “Severance”, stated that creator Dan McQuarrie wasn’t the only fan of the dystopian sci-fi thriller on Apple TV+. In fact, some members of Tillman’s character’s crew were also enthusiasts of the series.
During breaks between scenes, they’d quietly say, ‘We adore Severance,’ before returning to shoot. It’s truly rewarding to contribute to a production that’s appreciated and respected,” Tillman expressed.

Don’t Expect a “Music Dance Experience”
In the film, Tillman portrays Captain Bledsoe, leader of a covert U.S. submarine crew. Alongside the IMF group, they work together in an attempt to thwart a runaway AI cyber weapon known as the Entity in the movie.
In Season 1 of “Severance”, Tillman, known for his “music dance experience”, jokingly mentioned that Captain Bledsoe isn’t likely to host dance parties. He humorously commented, “Bledsoe danced his commands.” Tillman found this a dance in itself and stated, “That man is exceptionally talented, and he doesn’t mess around.
In my humble opinion as a movie enthusiast, “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” features an impressive ensemble cast beyond Tom Cruise and Alec Tillman, including Hayley Atwell, Esai Morales, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, and many others such as Angela Bassett and Shea Wingham.
