At that stage, we had produced around seven out of ten episodes. After the strike, we needed to regroup and reconvene. Preparing the show always takes some time, so we didn’t start shooting again until January [2024]. Filming continued from January to May to complete the remaining three episodes.

The actor famed for his role in “Zoolander” – a man who has spoken about the production time of “Severance” before – mentioned recently that it took some time to prepare the series. He explained further, stating that due to script revisions and discovering certain aspects wouldn’t fit right, they ended up constructing unused locations and creating new sets to accommodate their revised narratives. Erickson also shared similar insights.

However, he made sure to note that the wait and all these changes will be worth it, explaining:

Initially, we had designed entire settings for our project. We had even started construction on some when we suddenly figured out, ‘That won’t work.’ Making such decisions with the studio, where you say something like, ‘Remember that big investment? Unfortunately, we can’t proceed with it as planned, or we’ll go a completely different route,’ isn’t always pleasant. However, in the long run, these tough choices prove to be worthwhile.
