Shadow of the Erdtree hack lets you beat its final boss with boredom

As someone who’s spent countless hours in the labyrinthine world of Elden Ring, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions when I hear about this “invisible assassin” trick to defeat Consort Radahn. On one hand, I appreciate the ingenuity and the spirit of cooperation among players that leads to such discoveries. On the other, I find myself wondering if these folks have ever experienced the exhilarating rush of finally defeating a boss after days of relentless attempts, only to share their triumphant story with friends over a well-deserved pint at the tavern.

As a gamer immersed in FromSoftware’s Elden Ring, you’ll surely recognize that it’s not your typical speed run. Although I might not be as dedicated as Kai Cenat, streaming marathon sessions of 100+ hours, Elden Ring and its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC require a considerable amount of time and perseverance. Luckily, an ingenious trick helps us make the most of our time.

FromSoftware made it clear that Shadow of the Erdtree would be an exceptionally challenging journey, as suggested by its strict entry requirements. Frankly, we didn’t anticipate spending merely a day to breeze through a DLC we waited over a year for. However, were we truly ready for how tough it actually turned out to be?

Elden Ring players have a surprising way to defeat Consort Radahn

As a dedicated fan, I must say that in Elden Ring, some of the bosses are downright colossal, making Commander Gaius and Messmer the Impaler seem like playground thugs by comparison. Yet, Consort Radahn stands tall as a worthy endgame opponent. If you haven’t managed to take down Consort Radahn and find yourself apprehensive about being reduced to dust, fear not! There’s a clever strategy to conquer him using the power of boredom.

According to a video shared on YouTube by GamesRadar, it’s possible to defeat Consort Radahn without engaging him in combat directly. YouTuber Sheng Qian demonstrates this technique: if you remain invisible during the battle, Radahn will eventually stop fighting. To accomplish this, you’ll need two things: the Assassin’s Gambit Ash of War skill and the Unseen Form sorcery.

By layering these skills, you’ll essentially transform into a stealthy, unseen assassin. Slip along the arena’s periphery and reinstate invisibility whenever necessary. This allows you to strike Radahn with two heavy poison pots and a rot pot, gradually depleting his health. Afterward, employ a Mimic Veil item to mimic as a statue.

Once you’ve lowered Consort Radahn’s health enough to initiate his second phase, keep up your statue disguise and let him pass by in confusion. This appears to trigger a glitch where Radahn intermittently enters and exits the battle, draining his health bar and making it easier for you to win.

Using this trick may diminish the enjoyment of playing Elden Ring since winning without effort isn’t the reason we start a game in the first place. However, if you’re frustrated and have repeatedly died at the hands of the game’s formidable boss, you might find it helpful to employ this strategy before FromSoftware fixes it.
