Mahima Chaudhry first appeared on screen in Subhash Ghai’s movie, Pardes, which was released in 1997. In this film, she acted alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Apurva Agnihotri. Interestingly, the actress shared a story about how Khan was absent from the set for twenty days straight. When he eventually returned, there was quite a commotion as everyone gathered around the renowned star.
During a recent chat with Radio Nasha, Mahima Chaudhry shared memories of the set environment during the Shah Rukh Khan film Pardes. She mentioned that she, alongside others, impatiently waited for SRK for a span of 20 days and disclosed the dynamics among everyone upon his arrival on set.
15-20 days worth of anticipation was surrounding his arrival, as Shah Rukh was scheduled to visit the set. After a wait of 20 days, he finally arrived. As a result, everyone gathered around him eagerly. Since we were all fresh recruits, we waited for him to greet us and initiate conversation, and everyone listened attentively as he spoke, according to the Pardes star.
Calling SRK a “workshop”, Mahima added that he is full of stories.
Speaking about the filming of Do Dil Mil Rahe Hain, Mahima mentioned that Shah Rukh was shooting at a distance from her location on set. She recalled observing his scenes during production. Moreover, she expressed that SRK’s method of delivering lines and performing dances served as an inspiration to her. (The actress from Dhadkan)
Previously, during an interview with India Today, Mahima Chaudhry expressed that she hadn’t envisioned her film debut, Pardes, unfolding as it did. Mahima is grateful and feels fortunate to have worked alongside the renowned star Shah Rukh Khan for her initial role.
In addition to Pardes, actors such as Amrish Puri, Alok Nath, Himani Shivpuri, Dina Pathak, and several others were cast in secondary parts.
Beyond Pardes, Mahima Chaudhry has also appeared in films such as Daag: The Flame, What Does the Heart Do, Dhadkan, Kurukshetra, This is Your Home, This is My Home, Lajja, and Baghban. Other notable roles include Zameer: The Inner Fire, Line of Control: Kargil, Om Jai Jagdish, Seher, among others.
Currently, Shah Rukh Khan is set to appear in a film titled “King” by director Sujoy Ghosh. This upcoming action movie will also feature his daughter, Suhana Khan, as well as actors Abhishek Bachchan and Abhay Verma.
