Shah Rukh Khan has 'good manners', Gurdas Maan recalls working with superstar in Veer Zaara: 'Usne jab jhappi paa ke mainu uthaya na...'

As a die-hard fan of Bollywood, I have had the privilege of witnessing countless moments that have left me awestruck. Yet, none compare to the heartwarming story of Shah Rukh Khan‘s camaraderie with Gurdas Maan, as recounted during their collaboration on Veer Zaara.

In the world of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan is widely admired for his humble demeanor, quick wit, and eloquent speech. Several A-list celebrities, such as actor Riteish Deshmukh, casting director Mukesh Chhabra, and actor Raghav Juyal, have applauded SRK for seeing off his visitors until they’ve entered their vehicles. Recently, renowned Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan shared that Shah Rukh possesses excellent manners and reminisced about the time when the star gave him a warm embrace during the filming of Veer Zaara.

During a new interview with TV9 Digital, Gurdas Maan reminisced about working with Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of Yash Chopra’s 2004 film, Veer Zaara. Gurdas heaped praise on SRK for how respectful the superstar was to him.

When he gave me a hug, if I hadn’t woken up from it, the joy (would have come) to me, such was the expression of love and kindness…He took me in his car, whatever food or drink I desired, he arranged it all for me and then dropped me off at my own car,” Maan expressed.

In addition to this, Gurdas Maan commented that Shah Rukh Khan possesses respect and good manners which are the defining qualities of a genuine artist. For those who may not be aware, Maan collaborated on the song “Aisa Des Hai Mera” with Lata Mangeshkar, Udit Narayan, and Preetha Mazumdar. Notably, Maan has also sung the track “Lodi” alongside Mangeshkar and Narayan.

Gurdas Maan is known as one of the most impactful singers in Punjabi music history. Back in 2015, he teamed up with Diljit Dosanjh to create the song “Ki Banu Dunia Da,” which was featured on MTV Coke Studio India.

In 2024, the movie Veer Zaara, initially released in 2004, made a return to cinemas on September 13. This timeless romantic drama saw Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukerji grace the silver screen. The plot centers around two lovers, Veer Pratap Singh from India and Zaara Hayaat Khan from Pakistan, who are reunited after many years. Notable supporting roles were played by Manoj Bajpayee, Hema Malini, Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, and Divya Dutta.
