‘Shah Rukh Khan is like God for me’, says Isha Koppikar; recalls him asking ‘Mujhe kaun dekhne wala hai?’ between her and Priyanka Chopra in Don’s Aaj Ki Raat

As an ardent fan of the Bollywood industry, I can wholeheartedly say that my admiration for Shah Rukh Khan knows no bounds. His charisma, talent, and infectious energy have always left me spellbound. Hearing Isha Koppikar’s heartfelt words about SRK only reinforces my belief in his magnetic aura.

Tonight’s Song, famously known as Aaj Ki Raat, is a legendary tune from Shah Rukh Khan’s movie Don. Isha Koppikar, who played a significant role in the film, recently showed her appreciation for King Khan by referring to him as ‘God.’ She also recalled an amusing incident from the filming of the dance sequence where SRK inquired about who would focus on him while he was dancing with Priyanka Chopra and herself.

During a conversation with Galatta India, Isha Koppikar expressed her deep admiration for Shah Rukh Khan. She stated that to her, SRK is like a divine figure. The actress disclosed that she adheres to his life philosophies and values his words highly. Moreover, she acknowledged the immense respect she holds for him, as he made it big in Bollywood without any initial support or backing.

Isha added that what prompted her to do the movie “Don” was her admiration for Shah Rukh Khan. Regardless of how small her part might have been, she would have gladly played a tree just to be beside him in the film.

In a heartfelt praise, Isha acknowledged SRK’s vibrant spirit, modesty, and infectious humor. She reminisced about his knack for making her laugh with his witty remarks. During the filming of their collaboration on “Aaj Ki Raat” alongside Priyanka Chopra, Isha disclosed a memorable incident where SRK quipped playfully, “If these two girls are dancing, why have you put me here? Who is going to watch me? I can’t even dance.

However, Isha remarked that SRK’s dancing is ‘effortless.’

The movie “Don,” an action-packed thriller, hit the screens in the year 2006. This film was skillfully directed by Farhan Akhtar and was a modern adaptation of the 1978 movie bearing the same name, where Amitabh Bachchan played the leading role. A follow-up titled “Don 2” premiered in 2011, but Isha Koppikar did not return to her role for the second installment.

In 2023, it was revealed that the long-awaited third film in the Don series, titled Don 3, would be released. This new installment will serve as a reboot of the franchise and will feature Ranveer Singh as the main character. Kiara Advani has been chosen to play the female lead role.
