As a dedicated fan of Bollywood and its magic, I can hardly contain my excitement at the prospect of Akon revisiting the enchanting world of Chammak Challo! With his unique voice and captivating charm, he brought an electrifying energy to the original track that still resonates thirteen years later. If there’s even a remote possibility of a sequel, I wholeheartedly hope that Akon gets the chance to croon its second version.
13 years after the release of “Chammak Challo,” a popular track from Anubhav Sinha’s Ra.One featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor, Senegalese-American singer Akon has expressed interest in recording a new version of the song if there is a possibility of a film sequel. This song, which he collaborated on with Vishal-Shekhar, continues to be cherished by movie enthusiasts.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Akon mentioned his growing affinity towards Bollywood in recent times. He shared his enthusiasm about potentially recording a remake of the hit song “Chammak Challo,” which originally featured Shah Rukh Khan.
Akon shared that Bollywood holds a special place in his heart, and should the chance to contribute to Chammak Challo 2.0 arise, he’d eagerly take it.
Prior to taking the stage at the Cherry Blossom Music Festival in Shillong, Akon was busy engaging with fans. Known for his hit “Smack That,” the artist also shared that he’s preparing to make a return to Bollywood.
As a dedicated admirer, I’ve confessed that for years now, I’ve been closely tracking Indian music, and let me tell you, there’s something undeniably captivating about Bollywood. In fact, I can’t help but miss it! I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: in 2025, you can expect to see me involved in some incredible Bollywood projects. I can hardly wait to officially announce the details soon!
Back in March of this very year, I, a die-hard fan, found myself utterly captivated by the news that Akon had been a part of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding extravaganza in bustling Mumbai, India. And let me tell you, his performance at that event was nothing short of electric!
Akon is widely recognized for hit songs such as “Lonely”, “I Wanna Love You”, “Smack That”, “Right Now”, “Be With You” and many others.
13 years after its initial release on October 26, 2024 marked the anniversary of Ra.One. On this special occasion, director Anubhav Sinha shared his feelings of gratitude for having collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan in the film. He further mentioned that he learned a great deal from SRK while they were working together on set. This sentiment was also conveyed in a post on his Instagram account.
In the film Ra.One from 2011, Shah Rukh Khan played two roles: Shekhar Subramaniam, a video game developer, and G.One, a heroic character from the game. Kareena Kapoor portrayed Sonia S. Subramaniam, Shekhar’s wife. Arjun Rampal took on the role of the villain, Ra.One, who was also a character in the video game. In an unusual turn of events, both gaming characters emerged from their digital world to confront each other in reality.
