Shah Rukh Khan’s Kal Ho Naa Ho co-star Delnaaz recalls environment on sets during his death scene and we don’t blame them: ‘Real emotions made…’

As an avid fan who has watched Kal Ho Naa Ho more times than I can count, this news about its 21st anniversary has filled me with a mix of nostalgia and excitement. The film holds a special place in my heart, and the climax scene with Aman’s death is a moment that never fails to move me to tears.

21 years have passed since Kal Ho Naa Ho was first released, and fans took to social media to express their joy about this milestone. More recently, Delnaaz Irani, who portrayed Naina’s friend Jaspreet (Sweetu), reminisced about the emotional scenes that were filmed during the movie’s climax, where Aman (Shah Rukh Khan) tragically passed away on screen.

Even two decades since its premiere, fans continue to mourn the character Aman from the movie, who was known for his cheerful, helpful, and vivacious nature. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Delnaaz Irani shared that the filming environment was deeply emotional and intense, causing everyone to genuinely feel and shed tears for the raw emotions portrayed.

Initially, Irani was meant to be absent since she had a television shoot lined up that day. She requested a day off from the director, but surprisingly, he proposed she participate in a crucial death scene because her character was pivotal in the movie.

She explained, “He told me, ‘Delnaaz, this is a critical scene, the largest part of the movie, and I want you here.’ So, I arranged for everything and showed up for that take.

The actress is thankful to be involved in a pivotal scene in the movie since it held significance and showcased every actor participating, thus giving the scene a sense of completeness. She stated, “The ambiance was so authentic that no actor needed glycerin—everyone was genuinely crying, which made the entire scene quite unforgettable.” She further emphasized that genuine emotions were what truly made the scene memorable.

2003 saw the release of the masterpiece “Kal Ho Naa Ho,” brilliantly directed by Nikkhil Advani. As an ardent fan, I can’t help but be swept away by its profound emotional resonance, SRK’s captivating portrayal of romance, the gripping family drama, the chart-topping tunes that still echo in my heart, and the outstanding performances that breathe life into every scene. Above all, the film’s poignant narrative has left an indelible mark on me, making it a timeless treasure in Bollywood cinema.

Additionally, fans are eagerly anticipating the movie’s re-release today, specifically on November 15th, at PVR INOX. This gives them another opportunity to enjoy this outstanding film once more.
