As a longtime admirer and follower of Mahira Khan’s illustrious career, I must say that her heartfelt Instagram post for her son Azlan’s birthday truly resonates with me. Being a parent myself, I can relate to the overwhelming feelings of love, protection, and hope she expressed in her note. It’s clear that Mahira cherishes her family above all, and it’s beautiful to see how closely she holds Azlan in her heart.

Mahira Khan’s Pakistani series have catapulted her to international fame, but she also boasts a huge fan base in India. This popularity grew significantly when she made her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the film “Raees” in 2017. Today, Mahira shared an unreleased photo of her son Azlan on Instagram and wrote an emotional letter to celebrate his birthday.

24-year-old Mahira, with her world gazing at her, specifically Azlan (heart and globe emoji), was the opening of her note. She fervently wished for Azlan and all other children to stay safe, joyful, and healthy, and to live long lives. Her hope was that they would make wise choices for themselves and be shielded from harm. As her grandmother says, “Keep all hearts warm, oh Lord.” Amen, God willing.

Mahira Khan placed The Beatles’ song “Hey Jude” as background music for a photo, which appeared to be taken shortly after Azlan arrived. She noted this by saying, “This was the tune most often hummed to Azzu while he was in my womb and upon his birth! He’s still fond of The Beatles, and yes, MJ too!

For those not familiar, Azlan is the son of Mahira, from her previous marriage to Ali Askari which lasted from 2007 to 2016. Azlan was born in 2010. Mahira and her ex-husband share custody of their son. Later, in 2023, Mahira got married to Salim Karim, whom she met for the first time in 2019.

As a devoted admirer, I must share that, professionally, I’ve only witnessed one appearance of this actress in Indian cinema so far. Unfortunately, due to India’s prohibition on Pakistani artists, I didn’t have an opportunity to see her work again soon after. However, her captivating TV series remains a beloved favorite across the Indian subcontinent, continuing to captivate our hearts.
