Actor Shia LaBeouf has agreed to take on a role in an upcoming movie that is inspired by the violent events at the notorious Angola Prison, entitled “God of the Rodeo.” This film is being produced by renowned director Ridley Scott. Following his last appearance on the big screen in 2024’s “Megalopolis,” directed by Francis Ford Coppola, this casting marks LaBeouf’s return to the silver screen after a hiatus.
The performer will portray Buckkey, a prison inmate serving a life term at the actual Angola Prison (also known as the Louisiana State Penitentiary), in the movie “God of the Rodeo”. This facility is often referred to as the ‘Alcatraz of the South’ due to its long history of violent confrontations between prisoners and guards dating back to when it was established in the 1840s as a plantation.
