Shocking Deaths: Who Will Be the Next Victim on ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3?

The show titled “The White Lotus” delves into themes such as wealth, travel, and interpersonal relationships (or their absence). Set within one of the White Lotus resorts, each season unfolds with the revelation of a body discovered first, followed by flashbacks to the past. As the episodes progress, viewers are gradually provided clues regarding the identity and circumstances of the deceased individual. With two episodes under our belt, we’ve already started speculating about potential victims who might meet their end.

As a dedicated film enthusiast, I can’t help but notice some intriguing patterns emerging from the show’s narrative. It seems plausible that we may witness the demise of certain characters, or perhaps the victim hasn’t made their grand entrance yet. For instance, in Season 2, many of the characters who met an untimely end didn’t appear until episode 3 – “the Gays.”

However, I have a gut feeling that one character from our list could be next on the chopping block. This prediction is based on the introductory sequences, the show’s overarching themes, and the death patterns we’ve observed in Seasons 1 and 2. Alternatively, they might not be the first to fall but rather the one who pulls the trigger at a later stage. It’s an exciting time for viewers as we wait with bated breath to see how this unfolds!

8
Belinda

In the third season, Natasha Rothwell’s character, Belinda, made an unanticipated entrance. We first saw her in Season 1, where she offered Jennifer Coolidge’s character, Tanya, a massage which blossomed into a friendship of sorts. However, their bond was shattered when Tanya refused to back Belinda’s business venture, leading to heartache. Now, Belinda is participating in a training program in Thailand, initially excited about the opportunity. Yet, there are signs that this idyllic setting could potentially lead to complications.

The Greg Problem

By the second episode, Belinda has encountered Greg at the resort, but she appears hesitant as to whether it truly is him. As the series unfolds, it seems likely that she will recognize him, which may prompt her to wonder about Tanya’s (Greg’s ex-wife) whereabouts. If Belinda were to discover the details surrounding Tanya’s death, it wouldn’t be surprising for her to piece together the puzzle and understand who was behind it.

The knowledge that Belinda possesses might pose a significant danger to Greg, potentially causing him to take drastic measures like killing her. However, at this moment, she’s not high on our list of likely targets. Upon hearing gunshots, Zion, her son, ventures out to search for her and reacts with shock upon discovering a body. If the deceased were Belinda, we suspect he would have moved towards the body instead of running away from it. Moreover, while Natasha Rothwell’s name is shown in the opening scene alongside an image of a crane observing itself in water (and the body was found submerged), we believe this association is too obvious. Instead, the crane might symbolize Belinda on a quest for something, and given her past experiences, we wish she finds what she’s seeking.

7
Chelsea

As a devoted admirer, I find Aimee Lou Wood’s character, Chelsea, vibrant, candid, and seemingly waving warning signs that could fill an arsenal. Richard, her significant other, likens her to a machine gun, and she vows to bring him joy, even if it means sacrificing herself. Her attire in the first episode has a protective, armored feel, hinted by Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya, whose fashion choices are carefully selected to reveal character details. However, with Chelsea’s statement about ‘almost dying’ in episode 2, it seems almost too evident that she might be the intended victim—a twist that feels unexpected given her own words.

On the Attack

Could it be possible that instead of being the victim, Chelsea may be the shooter? There are several subtle indications in the opening sequence suggesting a more complex side to Chelsea’s character. For instance, Aimee Lou Wood’s name is paired with an image of a leopard consuming a deer while she gazes at a hunting dog. If we interpret this symbolically, Chelsea might be represented by the deer, foreshadowing her own demise, but considering the predatory leopard and the gaze upon the hunter, it seems more likely that Chelsea is the leopard, ready to attack.

6
Chloe

In the latest season of “White Lotus,” characters Chloe and Greg are paired up, with Charlotte Le Bon portraying Chloe. Unfortunately, things didn’t end well for Greg’s previous wife, Tanya. Unlike Season 2 where he pursued Tanya’s wealth, this time around, Greg is the wealthy one. This suggests that he wouldn’t kill Chloe because he stands to gain nothing from her demise. However, if she were to uncover his past wrongdoings, similar to Belinda, there’s a chance he might try to silence her, just as he did before.

Mysterious but not Really at Risk

At present, it appears more probable that Chloe will depart from Greg rather than face harm at his hands. She appears profoundly discontented within their association, which may not even qualify as a genuine relationship, given Rick’s assessment that it’s more like a paid service. Regardless, with the exception of Greg’s wealth and her recent bonding with Chelsea, Chloe finds herself with little reason to prolong her stay at the resort. It’s plausible she may become involved in an act similar to the robbery witnessed in episode 2 or perhaps even blackmail him for money upon discovering his secret. Consequently, it seems she might be the one brandishing the gun rather than being its target.

5
Timothy

The head of the Ratliff clan, Timothy (portrayed by Jason Isaacs), seems to be entangled in some underhanded dealings, possibly money laundering with a man called Kenneth, voiced by Ke Huy Quan. At this point, we’re unsure about the specifics, but what we do know is that Timothy is deeply concerned about potential prison time, which might push him, or another party, to take drastic actions.

A Bigger Role

There’s a chance that Ken could show up at the resort or delegate the task to another person regarding Tim. Fans are eagerly anticipating a more substantial role for Ke Huy Quan, and this scenario would make it effortless to achieve. Moreover, during the opening credits, Jason Isaacs is listed alongside an image of a man in a tree surrounded by sharp objects. This hints at potential peril ahead for Tim, and that peril might be personified by Ken.

4
Sritala

In the role of Sritala is Lek Patravadi, who jointly owns The White Lotus resort in Thailand. She oversees the health-oriented aspects of the resort and often performs as one of its main entertainers. By episode 2, it’s revealed that she intends to visit her husband, Khun Jim, in Bangkok, piquing Rick’s interest. Although it’s uncertain if Sritala is a significant target individually, her relationship with Khun Jim (and consequently Rick) might ultimately lead to her demise.

Caught in the Crossfires

Currently, we don’t have a lot of information about Sritala or her husband. It seems clear that Rick is at the hotel to meet (possibly engage in a confrontation with) the latter. Given her larger-than-life character, it’s not hard to imagine Sritala unwittingly getting entangled in a conflict. After all, she craves the spotlight, and being the tragic heroine of Season 3 would undoubtedly make her more unforgettable.

3
Rick

From the very beginning, Walton Goggins’ character Rick has shown unusual behavior. Previously discussed, he harbors feelings towards Sritala’s husband, Khun Jim, leading to various speculations. Could it be that Khun Jim is responsible for Rick’s father’s demise? Or perhaps they share a deeper bond, and Rick fabricated his past? Regardless, an encounter between them seems ominous, possibly culminating in Rick’s untimely end—or him taking the fatal shot.

Introduction Clues

In the opening sequences of each season, characters like Goggins and Coolidge are shown isolated in towers. In Season 2, Coolidge’s character met her end. Interestingly, Coolidge’s name appeared second in Season 2’s credits while Bartlett was first in Season 1. Surprisingly, Goggins’s name is listed third in Season 3, leading us to wonder if this could be a hint that ties the story together. This order might simply be a coincidence or it could be a clue to unravel the plot.

2
Laurie

In our list of possible victims, we find Laurie, portrayed by Carrie Coon, standing out. She’s quite a mess, the kind who might respond to anger by firing a gun rather than getting shot. This is one reason we consider her a strong candidate for a victim. It would be unexpected for her to be killed by one of her friends, given that she appears to be the one who could potentially pull the trigger. This twist aligns well with the more poignant aspects of The White Lotus, where a woman who feels overshadowed by her companions might come to understand how little they truly value her affection.

Other Clues

In Season 2, Jennifer Coolidge is shown alongside a monkey during the opening sequence, and in Season 3, her character’s friends joke that they mistook her for a monkey after she tapped on the glass. In contrast, Parker Posey, who plays Victoria, appears with two monkeys in the opening credits this season, but the connection is more subtle. The monkey reference earlier serves as a small nod to the past, which could have significant implications moving forward.

Moreover, Coon’s name is shown in the opening titles along with an elephant amidst predators, while Jaclyn and Katie seem to be bird-like characters looking on. There seems to be a hint of treachery looming over Laurie; it remains to be seen how deep this betrayal will run.

1
Greg

In the role of Greg (or Gary, as he’s known in Season 3), I find myself being the character that many viewers might label as the most questionable in “White Lotus.” Last season, I orchestrated Tanya’s attempted murder and unintentionally caused the demise of my old flame, Quentin. Now, in this new season, I appear to be devoid of any regret. The fact that I’ve reappeared on the show has left many fans surprised, yet it could potentially bring closure to Tanya’s storyline and provide her with the justice she deserves.

Our Thailand Dream

Greg’s position on our list partially stems from personal hopes, but there are several compelling arguments supporting this prediction. Firstly, if Greg is to return to the show, it seems unlikely his role would be insignificant in future events. Secondly, Tanya’s body was discovered in a similar position in the water as a corpse from Season 3, suggesting a possible repetition of her fate for Greg. Lastly and quite intriguingly, there exists a popular fan theory that Tanya has reincarnated as a vengeful monkey, and it’s not out of the question that one of these monkeys could seize a gun and exact revenge on Greg.

In summary, the hints are undeniably present, and Greg’s death, though seemingly predictable, paradoxically becomes unexpected. Moreover, it aligns with his character development, and viewers would find it satisfying if it transpired. If Season 2 was centered around Tanya’s Italian aspirations, we eagerly anticipate this season will focus on our own Thailand adventure and bringing an end to Greg’s oppressive rule.
