‘Short N’ Sweet’ Is Officially Sabrina Carpenter’s First No. 1 Album

As a long-time fan of Sabrina Carpenter, I can genuinely say that this girl is unstoppable! Her latest album, “Short N’ Sweet,” not only debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 but also had the third-best opening week of the year! It’s simply mind-blowing to see her climb up the charts, joining the likes of Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande.

Sabrina Carpenter officially has her first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

This past Tuesday, it was announced that the young singer Carpenter’s new album titled Short N’ Sweet had made its way to the top of this week’s Billboard charts, marking a significant milestone in her career as it is her first No. 1 album.

Carpenter’s newest single, titled “Taste,” made its entry at the second spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Prior to this, her pre-release tracks “Please Please Please” and “Espresso” secured the third and fourth positions respectively. This puts Carpenter in an exclusive club with Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande, as they are currently the only female artists to have at least three songs on the top five of the Billboard Hot 100 chart concurrently, as reported by Billboard.

The 12-track album debuted in third place during its opening week, as reported by Billboard, selling approximately 362,000 equivalent album units. Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” (2.61 million equivalent album units) and Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” (407,000 equivalent album units) currently occupy the top two positions in sales.

The eagerly awaited “Short N’ Sweet” was generating quite a buzz prior to its debut. Carpenter, in a move to heighten anticipation, posted a preview of the song titled “Taste” on Instagram using the platform’s new feature that lets users embed music in their profiles.

The “Taste” music video caused a stir on the internet. The artistic yet gruesome video starts with a warning for sensitive viewers, followed by Carpenter selecting various weapons and eerily crooning, “Rock-a-bye baby, safe in your crib / Now you’re asleep / Soon you’ll be… dead.” For a brief instant, the pop star pauses to put on lipstick using a large knife as a mirror.

In this quirky video, Carpenter and Jenna Ortega engage in a deadly struggle that seems to revolve around Ortega’s current partner who used to be Carpenter’s ex. A catchy tune with lyrics like “Rumor has it you’re back together, if that’s so, then you’ll have to endure me when he’s kissing you” sets the stage for their confrontation. As they attempt to eliminate each other, they resort to various methods such as shotguns, knives, chainsaws, voodoo dolls and more.

As a devoted fan, I must say, Carpenter and Ortega’s video scene takes an unexpected turn. They lock lips, which ultimately leads to the demise of Ortega’s boyfriend. Dressed in somber black attire, they stand before his casket, a solemn moment indeed. But then, they stroll off together, exuding camaraderie, chuckling and sipping on milkshakes – an unusual duo enjoying a lighthearted moment amidst the gloom.

As a gamer, I can’t help but feel like I just leveled up when I heard that the 25-year-old singer hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Please Please Please” in June. This tune is their second single from Short n’ Sweet, and it’s been making waves as a viral track. Their first single, “Espresso,” has been holding its ground for 20 weeks now, reaching No. 2 earlier in the summer. It feels like I’ve been following this artist’s journey on an epic quest, and they just scored a major victory!

The carpenter is additionally scheduled to appear at the rescheduled MTV VMAs, which were shifted from September 10 to September 11. This adjustment aims to avoid a conflict with the forthcoming presidential debate.

This autumn, the popular singer’s fully booked Short n’ Sweet Tour is set to commence in Columbus, Ohio. The tour across North America will conclude in Los Angeles, with a performance at the Crypto.com Arena scheduled for November 15, followed by two shows at the Kia Forum on November 17 and 18.
