Showtime actor Rajeev Khandelwal on not attending Ambani wedding; 'I will feel like the biggest loser'

As a huge fan of Rajeev Khandelwal‘s acting skills and raw honesty, I deeply respect his stance on not attending high-profile events like Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding if it goes against his values and comfort zone. His words resonate with me because he stays true to himself, which is a rare quality in today’s world where conformity often takes precedence over individuality.

More recently, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant tied the knot in grand style. Notable figures from Bollywood, as well as social media sensations, politicians, sports figures, and international celebrities graced the occasion with their presence at the star-studded wedding events.

Rajeev Khandelwal, a well-known figure in Indian television and films, shares that he would have declined an invitation to the glitzy gathering despite being asked. This is his explanation.

Rajeev Khandelwal says why he won’t attend an Ambani wedding

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding drew a large number of prominent figures from around the world. This grand occasion served as an excellent platform for actors to meet filmmakers and producers, thereby expanding their professional network and furthering their careers. However, Rajeev Khandelwal believes that each person has their unique approach to achieving success.

During an interview on Siddharth Kannan’s YouTube channel, Aamir Khan shared his belief that individuals should adopt an approach that suits them best. Nevertheless, he emphasized that he didn’t want to deviate from being “true to himself” by following that method. Regarding the Ambani wedding, Aamir expressed that attending it would make him feel and appear foolish.

He explained that since he’s not personally acquainted with the Ambanis, attending their wedding solely for the sake of being seen wouldn’t appeal to him. “I would come off as trying too hard,” he remarked, further mentioning that while such high-profile Bollywood events might be beneficial for others, they don’t align with his personal preferences.

When Sanjay Leela Bhansali made Rajeev Khandelwal wait for an unreleased film

In the very same interview, the man portraying “Bloody Daddy” shared that Sanjay Leela Bhansali had cast him as the lead in a movie named “Chenab Gandhi,” which Bhansali was producing. Regrettably, this project failed to make its debut.

The actor explained that for approximately 9 months to a year, SLB kept him on hold for the project, preventing him from taking on other jobs due to contractual obligations. During this time, Khandelwal shared, he was left in the dark about the movie’s status without any updates from SLB or director Vibhu Puri. Eventually, he was informed that the film wasn’t going forward.
