Simone Belloti Is a Free Spirit for Bally SS25

As a fashion enthusiast with a deep appreciation for history and the avant-garde, I must say that Simone Belloti has truly outdone himself this time! The Spring/Summer 2025 collection for Bally is a breathtaking ode to Zurich’s Dada movement, blending the whimsical with the sophisticated in a way that only a seasoned designer could.

Simone Belloti is comfortably taking on his duties at Bally and is back for Milan Fashion Week to showcase his third collection with the high-end brand. The previous season blended rural influences with urban workwear styles, but for Spring/Summer 2025, inspiration comes from Zurich’s Dada art movement that dates back centuries.

Belloti unleashes the free spirit within him at a cost of $SS25, refreshing his modern design aesthetic with broad shoulders and vibrant primary colors. This spring/summer season, playfulness was key as Bally skillfully blended the practical and fantastical across traditional shapes, which were both deconstructed and reimagined with pride.

Belloti went back to his initial stage in the bustling Milan, surrounded by ancient gardens under the radiant Italian sun. His 56-piece collection embodies refined elegance with a distinct twist, employing rugged leather, crumpled fabrics, and pleated denim on updated shapes. The rounded silhouettes of SS25 were inspired by German author and poet Hugo Ball, who shaped the body in oversized trench coats, stiffened suits, and voluminous outerwear with shoulder padding that resembles a cocoon.

In other parts of this assortment, leather jackets were trimmed and combined with asymmetrical skirts and spiky handbags. This was followed by vests lined with mesh and outfits featuring peplum details, exuding a grandeur feel. Coats without collars were arranged at the shoulders to produce unusual silhouettes, while everyday trench coats, flowery knitwear, and distorted denim suits added an abstract touch to complete the collection.
