Aamir Khan’s highly anticipated movie, Sitaare Zameen Par, is close to hitting the screens. Fans are buzzing with anticipation to witness this spiritual follow-up to the 2007 blockbuster Taare Zameen Par. In addition to Aamir, Genelia Deshmukh plays a significant role in the film. Recently, Aamir revealed that his mother Zeenat Khan will make a special appearance in the movie.
Indeed, as you’ve just learned, Aamir Khan’s 90-year-old mother is set to make her acting debut in the movie “Sitaare Zameen Par”. During a recent interview, Aamir himself confirmed this unexpected turn of events and shared that everything was quite spontaneous. Aamir once divulged an emotional episode from the Sitaare Zameen Par set, explaining that his mother unexpectedly chose to drop by during a filming session. Although she had no prior inclination towards visiting movie sets, she expressed her desire one morning to witness where he was working. The actor managed to get her transported to the location by his sister, and she made an appearance in a wheelchair during the shooting of a lively wedding song.
While filming Sitaare Zameen Par, director RS Prasanna personally appealed to Aamir Khan and asked if his mother could join the scene since it was the last song and a joyous celebration. Initially, Aamir was unsure if she would consent due to her independent personality. Yet, when he delicately proposed the idea, to everyone’s surprise, she agreed. She participated in some shots during the wedding sequence, creating an unforgettable moment for Aamir. He later remarked, “She is part of only one film of mine.
Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that Aamir Khan’s sister is also involved in this movie. Discussing this collaboration, he revealed that it’s their first project together. Yet, given her profession as an actress, he hinted at potential future collaborations.
The film Sitaare Zameen Par stands out for a remarkable reason: it features no less than 10 actors who are neurodivergent, namely Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
