Son of Sardaar 2: Sanjay Mishra spills beans on replacing Vijay Raaz in Ajay Devgn-led film; 'At the back of my mind...'

As a seasoned film enthusiast and connoisseur of Bollywood drama, I must say that the ongoing saga surrounding Son of Sardaar 2 is as intriguing as any blockbuster movie itself. The replacement of Vijay Raaz by Sanjay Mishra in the film has certainly piqued my curiosity and added a new layer to this already complex tale.

The film Son of Sardaar 2, directed by Ajay Devgn, has drawn attention for several reasons. Previously, TopMob revealed that Vijay Raaz, who held a significant role in the upcoming movie, was dropped from it. He was subsequently replaced by Sanjay Mishra. In a recent conversation, the veteran actor shared insights about taking over the part originally played by the Run actor.

During an interview with India Today, Sanjay Mishra mentioned that he has wrapped up his work in Son of Sardaar 2. He said, “Behind-the-scenes matters are just part of the business,” and went on to explain that he took up the role because Ajay Devgn, whom he considers a friend, asked him to do so. This one call from the actor in Singham Again was all it took for Mishra to join the cast, replacing Vijay Raaz in the movie. Mishra admitted that stepping into Raaz’s shoes wasn’t an easy decision for him.

In simpler terms, the actor from The Jolly LLB 2 went on to praise Raaz, who recently appeared in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. He referred to Raaz as an exceptional talent and admitted that he felt a sense of pressure to excel, given that he was stepping into the role previously held by Vijay. Additionally, Mishra mentioned that they are friends and will continue their friendship. As a fan of Vijay’s work, Mishra found inspiration in maintaining high standards and delivering a strong performance so as not to disappoint either the audience or Ajay, who showed faith in him.

During our conversation, Kumar Mangat Pathak, one of the producers of Son of Sardaar 2, shared that Vijay Raaz has been eliminated from the film due to his unprofessional conduct on set. According to Pathak, the actor asked for larger living quarters, a personal vanity van, and excessively charged them for crew members. Interestingly, his crew member was being paid Rs 20,000 per night, which is more than what most leading actors receive.

To set the record straight, when I exited the vehicle, I observed Ajay Devgn approximately 25 meters distant, engrossed in his own activities. Instead of approaching him, I chose to converse with my companions nearby. After about a quarter of an hour, Mr. Kumar Mangat approached me and said, “You need to leave the film set; we are leaving.” The sole mistake on my part was failing to acknowledge Mr. Ajay Devgn, my beloved idol.
