As a die-hard fan of Bollywood, I can’t help but be enamored by the beautiful journey of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal. Their love story spanning over seven years, culminating in a grand wedding, is nothing short of a fairy tale. The fact that they had a divine intervention during their Kanyadan ceremony, with the Azaan playing in the background, adds an ethereal charm to their union.
Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are an ideal pair, having officially become husband and wife on June 23rd, following seven years of courtship. After their legal union, they held a lavish gathering for their professional contacts and relatives. They’ve recently enjoyed a honeymoon in the Philippines and shared glimpses of their trip on social media. In a recent interview, the couple recounted a touching divine moment during their wedding ceremony and mentioned that the Kanyadan was delayed by 15 minutes.
During an interview with Galatta India, newlywed Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal spoke about an unusual occurrence during their Kanyadan ceremony. As the pandit recited sacred mantras, they noticed the Azaan (Muslim call to prayer) being played in the background. They described this synchronous event as a divine intervention.
Zaheer shared, “I believe this is the most extraordinary moment in my existence, a moment that was breathtakingly beautiful. Due to a fifteen-minute delay, the Kanyadan ceremony eventually began, and as we finally found our seats, I clasped her hand, and together we offered our prayers.”
As I listened intently, Sona suddenly queried, “Do you notice that sound?” Puzzled, I inquired, “What sound is it?” She responded, “It’s the Azaan,” creating a moment of profound beauty. The pandit was then reciting prayers and mantras, while the Azaan echoed softly in the background as we exchanged our vows. It felt as if the heavens themselves were blessing our union.
Reflecting on our recent union, I shared with ETimes that I had hoped to tie the knot with my beloved Zaheer Iqbal earlier. However, as the saying goes, better late than never.
The actress expressed her profound joy due to the long-awaited marriage, stating it was like returning home at last. She cherishes her time with Zaheer, considering him not just a friend but an integral part of her life.
Sonakshi stated, “I really enjoy working, having my independence, and then rushing home to see him. I was hoping it would happen sooner, but as they say, better late than never.”
Currently, Sonakshi can be spotted in the movie “Kakuda,” which premiered on July 11. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, known for his work with Munjya, this film also features Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem in significant roles. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, “Kakuda” is now available for streaming on ZEE5.
