As a lifelong Sonic fan who’s been following this blue blur since the Sega Genesis days, I couldn’t be more thrilled with the latest update for Sonic Racing on Apple Arcade! The community challenges are an excellent way to collaborate with fellow fans from around the world and unlock some exclusive rewards. Plus, the addition of Idol Shadow as a racer is simply music to my ears! It’s like Sega read my wishlist for 2024 – the Year of Shadow – and decided to make it happen early!
Sega has recently released a thrilling content update for Sonic Racing on Apple Arcade, introducing new obstacles and characters to the fast-paced multiplayer racing game. This upgrade not only intensifies the competitive spirit but also fosters camaraderie within the Sonic Racing community by promoting teamwork. Additionally, there are new cosmetics to customize your racer’s appearance.
Leading in the new update for Sonic Racing, we present Community Challenges! This gives you a chance to join forces with Sonic Racing fans worldwide to accomplish tasks and unveil shared rewards. It’s an exciting method to work together with others and secure unique prizes.
In addition to this update, we’re adding two fresh racers to the mix: Popstar Amy, who can be earned by mastering time trials, and Idol Shadow, who becomes playable upon participating in community challenges. They join our previously introduced characters Rockstar Rouge and DJ Vector, thus increasing the roster and bringing in more icons from our beloved franchise.
Sonic Racing delivers adrenaline-pumping racing experience akin to Team Sonic Racing straight to your hands, enabling you to race with fifteen characters hailing from the Sonic universe. The game incorporates time trials, team combos, and fifteen tracks distributed across five distinct zones. Each track presents unique hurdles, ensuring you have ample opportunities to enhance your skills as you dash towards victory.
Over the past four years, the popularity of the Sonic series has grown significantly, with multiple new releases. In 2023 alone, we’ve seen seasons three of Sonic Prime, a Knuckles show, Sonic X: Shadow Generations, and an upcoming Sonic 3 film. The year 2024 is being billed as the “Year of Shadow,” featuring the spotlight on this anti-hero. Given this focus, it’s ideal that Idol Shadow joins the roster for Sonic Racing.
