Sonic Rumble gets delayed as Sega readies another update

  • Sonic Rumble isn’t releasing just yet
  • Sega has prepared the version 1.2 update with lots of new content
  • Q&A session to be held on Discord

Although an exciting cross-promotion event with Super Monkey Ball, Altered Beast, and other Sega favorites preceded it, Sonic Rumble’s worldwide release has been postponed temporarily. Initially planned for a grand launch following over 1.4 million pre-registrations, the multiplayer battle royale game is now on hold. Sega has decided to pause its rollout for the time being.

With Sonic Rumble’s delay, the team is gearing up for update 1.2, set to bring significant changes to the world Dr. Eggman designed in the toybox. The upcoming features include Rumble Rankings, Crews, and character Skills, all intended to enrich the core gameplay experience. Instead of just aiming for a chaotic victory, these additions will provide you with more goals to pursue.

With Rumble Rankings, you can ascend seasonal leaderboards for exciting rewards. Plus, Crews offer a chance for you and your companions to collaborate on mission scores. Lastly, the innovative Skills system equips characters with unique abilities for enhanced tactical depth.

Rather than hastily deploying them during the game’s release, Sega decided to delay and spend the necessary time to ensure everything was properly set up. Rest assured, a Q&A session is scheduled for May 2nd on Discord, where you can learn about upcoming plans and ask any questions you might have.

While you wait, here’s a list of the right now!

The postponement won’t diminish the momentum the game has gathered so far. All the pre-registration bonuses remain intact, such as 5,000 Rings, a Crystal Chao Buddy, the Happy Sticker, the Garnet Knuckles skin, and an exclusive Movie Sonic skin for reaching the 1.4 million milestone. Consequently, when the launch day arrives, you’ll be beginning with a substantial collection.

Since they’ve delayed the launch, I’m still waiting to get my hands on Sonic Rumble! Pre-register now using the links provided below. When it’s out, it’ll be a free game with additional content available through in-app purchases. For more details, check out their official website.
