Sonic Rumble gets pre-gloabl release crossover event featuring Monkey Ball, Altered Beast and others

Although the global launch date for Sonic Rumble is set for May 8th, it appears that the game won’t waste any time before initiating its first crossover event. However, this isn’t about external influences. On the contrary, popular Sega characters from past and present are set to join the fray!

Interestingly, this crossover event is set to occur before the worldwide launch, meaning those fortunate enough residing in regions with a soft launch will have access to it first. From today up until May 7th, you’ll have an opportunity to acquire the Werewolf character, reminiscent of the original Altered Beast release, free of charge.

Currently, those who are Sega Star Event Pass subscribers have the opportunity to unlock two additional characters: Weredragon from Altered Beast and the original Sega mascot, Opa-Opa, originating from the timeless arcade game, Fantasy Zone.

Additionally, you’ll find even more characters in the Ring Shop within the game. These include Upa-Upa and the Werebear. The Red Star Ring Shop, on the other hand, will provide characters from Super Monkey Ball such as AiAi and MeeMee!

Although it’s not common for such an event to happen prior to the official release, I’m confident that those fortunate enough to preview it during the soft launch will eagerly anticipate playing with these new characters.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but speculate that we haven’t seen the last of these exciting collaborations featuring Sonic Rumble. And Sega has hinted at an action-packed schedule ahead, promising a plethora of crossovers and partnerships that they have in store for us!
