As a longtime fan of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming third installment. The success of the first two movies has truly revitalized the adaptation of video games into films, and the addition of Shadow the Hedgehog is the cherry on top.

In the past, film adaptations of popular video games have underperformed. However, this trend has shifted more recently with films like “Sonic the Hedgehog” becoming successful and expanding into franchises. The next installment, “Sonic 3,” is upcoming, and composer Junkie XL has already expressed excitement about its content. I can’t wait to see Shadow the Hedgehog on the big screen!

The popular “Sonic the Hedgehog” series, available to stream with a Paramount+ subscription, has been successful, making it no wonder that a third installment was promptly announced. The finale of “Sonic 2” hinted at Shadow’s involvement, and fans are eagerly anticipating updates about the film. Composer Junkie XL has lent his skills to this project, as he disclosed to Collider that he’s already viewed it.

Yesterday marked my initial viewing of the film. I have a clear understanding of its plot. Moreover, I’ve had the privilege of communicating with its director, Jeff Fowler, whom I’ve known for an extended period. Notably, Jeff previously collaborated with Tim Miller at Blur Studios. Together, they worked on Deadpool and Terminator: Dark Fate. Following these projects, we moved on to create the first and second Sonic films. Now, we’re working together on the third Sonic film, which I find incredibly thrilling and intriguing.

Based on the composer’s remarks, director Jeff Fowler seems to be putting in a great deal of effort into “Sonic the Hedgehog 3.” Judging from the praise, this upcoming film is anticipated to be excellent. However, we’ll have to be patient and wait for more details about its content to be revealed.

In May, a producer for the Sonic 3 movie announced that its primary influence would stem from Sonic Adventure 2. This is not surprising since Shadow was introduced in this game for the first time, and it holds a special place in the hearts of many fans, evoking fond memories in theaters.

The manufacturing process for “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” ended in March. Since then, fans have been anxiously awaiting a look at Shadow in motion. He made a brief appearance in the closing credits of the previous film, but we haven’t heard his voice or seen him sprinting in his iconic air shoes yet.

Enthusiasts of the prolonged Sonic video game saga have been thrilled as new installments arrive, bringing in additional cherished characters to expand the Sonic universe. The initial spin-off introduced Tails and Knuckles, but following suit is the much-anticipated adversary, Shadow. It’s plausible that future installments could introduce even more playable characters, such as Amy and Rogue the Bat, which I for one would be excited to see.

The film “Sonic 3” is predicted to premiere in cinemas on December 20th. Until then, take a look at the upcoming movie releases in 2025.
