As a gamer with an insatiable appetite for both digital and cinematic adventures, I must say that the RIDEVU app from Mercedes-Benz and Sony Pictures Entertainment has piqued my interest like no other in-car entertainment system before. Being someone who’s spent countless hours on the road, either commuting to LAN parties or driving cross-country for tournaments, this app seems like a game-changer.
Imagine being able to catch up on the latest Marvel movie while stuck in traffic, or binge-watching an entire season of Stranger Things during a long road trip without worrying about data usage – it’s a dream come true! The ability to stream content on up to six screens at once is a feature that would have saved me from many a heated argument with my fellow passengers over who gets the front seat.
The thought of having behind-the-scenes content and exclusive extras at my fingertips is particularly exciting, as I’ve always been fascinated by the making of games and movies. And let’s not forget about the offline viewing via mobile devices – perfect for those moments when you find yourself in a spotty signal zone.
Now, if only they could figure out a way to automatically pause the movie whenever I get a game invite… “Because nothing ruins an epic car chase like a sudden ‘Sorry, I have to take this call.'” (wink)
Mercedes-Benz joins forces with Sony Pictures Entertainment to roll out RIDEVU, an on-the-go movie app that brings cinema right into your car.
RIDEVU, seamlessly integrated with your vehicle’s MBUX infotainment system, grants you access to a vast collection of hit movies, behind-the-scenes footage, and unique bonus materials. You can even rent or buy the newest releases straight from your car. The app allows streaming on as many as six screens concurrently, encompassing in-car displays and personal mobile devices. With its high-definition video quality and user-friendly design, RIDEVU is designed to revolutionize your driving experiences.
Upcoming improvements will include syncing content across different screens and offline viewing via mobile devices. To access RIDEVU, you’ll need a car fitted with the MBUX Entertainment Package Plus and an active Mercedes-Benz Connect plan. You can activate it through your vehicle’s infotainment system.
For safe operation, the driver can open the app exclusively through the central screen either when the vehicle is stationary or when the Drive Pilot system is engaged.
