As the April 3rd launch date for the PC edition of The Last of Us Part II approaches, gamers who have been eagerly waiting to follow Ellie and Joel’s dramatic saga now have the opportunity to do so using a mouse and keyboard setup.
This game incorporates the identical characteristics and advancements present in the PlayStation 5 remaster, such as elevated graphical quality, improved performance, and the challenging roguelike gameplay mode titled “No Return.
Although gamers might find it puzzling and aggravating, The Last of Us Part II Remastered for PC necessitates a PlayStation Network (PSN) account even though it’s primarily a single-player game. This could be inconvenient for players residing in areas where PSN isn’t available, whereas those in supported countries might not be affected by this change.

In a twist that’s become familiar for Sony fans, two months after its launch, HELLDIVERS 2 faced criticism due to the company suddenly enforcing a policy previously promised not to be implemented – requiring a PlayStation Network (PSN) account. This decision triggered a wave of controversy, resulting in users posting negative reviews and a significant drop in the game’s player base, particularly in regions that don’t support PSN.
To clarify, neither Arrowhead Studios (developer of HELLDIVERS 2) nor Naughty Dog is at fault for this situation. Instead, it’s a requirement imposed by Sony, who are enforcing PlayStation Network (PSN) sign-ins to maintain “safety and security” on both the user and system sides.
As a passionate gamer hailing from one of the affected regions, such as the Philippines, Argentina, or certain parts of Europe like France, I must express my disappointment with the current situation regarding PlayStation Network (PSN) access. Despite Sony’s claims that the issue stems from legal and regulatory hurdles in our respective regions, it seems that a prompt resolution may not be imminent.
It’s interesting to note that although several PlayStation games ported to Steam and Epic Games Store, like God of War: Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, necessitate a PSN login, some newer titles such as Horizon Forbidden West and The Last of Us Part I do not. This inconsistency in the requirement has left players perplexed and irritated.
It’s unfortunate that players in countries without PlayStation Network (PSN) support don’t have an instant fix for playing games online. Employing a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to circumvent the restriction could potentially lead to problems, as it might trigger account bans from both Sony and Valve due to its risky nature.
