As a longtime fan of SXSW and someone who has attended the festival in Austin several times, I am beyond excited for the inaugural SXSW London event taking place in Shoreditch next year! The opportunity to experience this unique convergence of creativity, culture, and innovation right here in London is truly special.
South by Southwest 2025, taking place in London, has set its festival dates.
The first-ever festival, bringing together “imagination, art, and novelty,” is scheduled for June 2-7 in Shoreditch.
Based on the proven success of SXSW in Austin, Texas, and Sydney, Australia, which has drawn over 20,000 attendees each year, the expansion to London is projected to bring in over £75 million ($97m) for the U.K. economy. The event will also prioritize workforce development through collaborations with local, independent, and community-focused venues in East London. To enhance its influence, SXSW London will provide a skills development program beyond the festival dates.
As a passionate gamer, I’m always excited to learn about new additions to the team behind my favorite events. Recently, I heard some exciting news from the organizers of SXSW London! They’ve announced three new hires who will be joining them soon.
I’m thrilled about the decision to have a shorter date format for SXSW London, similar to SXSW in Austin. This means that all our conference, music, screen, and arts programs will run concurrently. As an attendee, this accessibility to various programming formats and diverse networking opportunities from different industries is truly exciting! Plus, by bringing SXSW to the vibrant streets of Shoreditch, we’ll create a unique festival experience. Indoor spaces will host engaging events, while public areas will showcase creativity and artistic expressions. The energy and excitement of summer will be palpable throughout the entire event.

During my participation in SXSW in Austin back in 2018, I experienced the vibrant and inspiring environment of innovation that this event offers. I’m thrilled at the prospect of being involved again.
